Eye zapping and class 1 medicals
Hello everyone, I am currently doing the PPL(H) on a class 2 medical but have got the rotary bug, big style and really want to go for ATPL(H).
I had laser surgery in June'04 with a pre op refraction of -3.50 dioptres in both eyes, which I think is acceptable to the CAA but just want to ask if any of you have any information on this?
Had 12 month check today and 6/6 in both with 6/5 binocular

The basic details are contained on the medical page of the CAA website. Your high street optician can translate the numbers and rules.
Check out the position with your regular Class 2 AME. They are their to help, and finally ring the CAA med team to ask advice, to be certain.
I recall the restriction was on 'laser surgery within n months of the Class 1 being taken'.
