Australian Class one to JAR Class one

Hi All,

If I hold an Australian class one medical and wish to obtain a JAR class one medical, do I have to complete the whole medical at Gatwick or is there a reduction in the requirement.

Any information greatly appreciated

Curvature,

I believe there is a reduction to the overall medical, in fact I believe you do not require the EEG. Although I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Also you will have to attend Gatwick as I assume it is your initial Class 1.

Hope this helps.

Ps where are you training or have trained in OZ?

Hi there curvature...I transferred a NZ and Oz Class 1 a couple of years back......basically as long as your EEG...audiogram are current...its treated a bit like a renewal. If you are able to..bring your records with you to the AME.

Cheers

No need to go to LGW. There are a dozen places for the initial class 1, though a renewal will do if you have a current ICAO class 1.

approx. EUR120 in the Czech Republic, cheaper in Germany. Bring your medical reports. No waiting lists in those countries, sorry no current info on the UK.

cheers, IP

A very brief "google" brought up an AME in Macao, I have personally been to on in the Caribbean. So if you do your search, there might be one close by.

Aust to JAA Class 1

Mate,

Get on the UK CAA website it will outlay the whole deal. When I converted my medical you could do it by sending the reports from your current CASA file to the UK (approx. 5 years ago). Now you will have to do the initial medical in Gatwick but it will not be a full one, due to you holding a current Australian Class 1. The full initial is £400 approx, with the reduced examination when I last checked it was about £190. JAA Class 1 renewals however, can be undertaken in Australia once you have been issued the initial Class 1 in LGW. Any questions drop us a PM.
