Class1 Eyesight
Hi, Im going for my Class 1 medical soon.. would it be advisable to go to an opticians to get an eye test first, just in case I do need correcting? Then, so long I m within the limits, go to the Class 1 exam with my new specs?
Thanks

When I went for my 1st Class Medical, I took my current presciption with me and wore my contact lenses and had my glasses in my pocket.
I had to take my lenses out and they tested my eyes "un-corrected." I couldn't see anything when I took them out, and the bloke asked how far down the board I could read before it went blurry. I replied "wheres the board gone!!"
I dont think its necessary to have your prescription unless you have corrective lenses, but best check before you go!!
I passed my medical too!!

With the question of eyesight and class 1 medicals, what is the situation regarding laser surgery? I am thinking of getting my eyes corrected but I'm am worried about side effects and if it will effect me getting my class 1 medical.
Hi Gareth, Have a look here, previous threads on lazer surgery. http://www.pprune.org/forums/search....by=&sortorder=
