Tax rates for pilots in Italy?
I would appreciate if someone could give me an idea of what sort of tax rate one could expect if living in Italy.
Are pilots subject to a "standard" tax rate, like any job, on full income or can deductions be made for daily allowance / per diems?
Are there any tax free elements of you income?
Deductions for working weekends and public holidays and stuff like in some countries? Does it matter if your wife works or not?
What if you would earn a "tax free" salary for example from Asia or the Middle East, but living and declaring your income in Italy? Would you be required to pay in some sort of social security "on top" of your income tax?
Any information or hints on where to turn to get some information would be appreciated.
Thanks.

mate,
with the actual italian economy downturn.....governement is acting as a sort of robin hood. unfortunately...seems to be all rich over here so all the taxes had risen (the last one vat at 21 %) unfortunately i cant help you in terms of pilots salaries but the general overview and the forecast for the next year is not of the best we ever had.Looking at what is ongoing here i can friendly suggest you to avoid to pay taxes here......i really hope for you that somebody could help you more in the detail but i suppose not a lot will speak about italian tax sistem as the best in the world!

plus.
regional additional: around 1.5/2
comunal additional: around 0.8/1
both increasing.
deductions system is a little bit complicated; to be honest it's a jungle.
wife, childrens, loans, medics, life insurance, house restructure are the most common.

Per diem are normally charged 50%.
Salaries are made by two different amounts: basic salary wich is considered 100% for tax purposes and flying allowance wich, like per diem, is considered 50%
