TRUCE = Training for Unusual Circumstances and Emergencies
It's the time of year again when the operational ATCOs & ATSAs at Swanwick undergo their TRUCE training. Once again we are inviting pilots to attend and participate and pass on your knowledge and experience to us.
All TRUCE sessions will be between October and February and are during the afternoons with 1400 starts. There will be the opportunity to visit the main ops room and hopefully sit in on the live sectors. There will be a mileage allowance payable and a dinner at the lakeside restaurant.
This year, due to security, we are having to restrict visits to those who fly for commercial operations.

Thank you for your interest in attending the TRUCE sessions. TRUCE involves both classroom and practical simulator sessions; these sessions are greatly enhanced by the presence of a commercial Pilot.
The dates for TRUCE are given below:-
We realise some of the dates are well in advance of your roster publication, however, it will at least enable you to put a marker in your planner to contact us regarding your availability when appropriate.
TRUCE will run in the afternoons and Pilots are asked to be here for a 1400 hour briefing with Assessors and Facilitators, prior to training commencing at 1430 hours. The sessions will finish at 2110 hours and we are hoping you will be able to stay to the end, however, we realise this is not always possible. Should you anticipate having to leave earlier we would appreciate knowing during the briefing to help us plan ahead! As per last year, you will have an opportunity to visit the Main Ops Room at some stage during the afternoon.
We have a budget to cover a meal at Swanwick and an allowance for running cost petrol mileage which currently stands at 18p/petrol; 16p/diesel; 14p/LPG; motorcycle/16p.
We have a group e-mail address which is monitored by several members of the Training Support Team and this is [email protected] or telephone 01489 612887.
