This was in regards to the airline that the course is affiliated to, not the flight school itself. Clearly the flight school is not going to want to not take in students.

Anybody in a current cohort have any insight as to what’s going on with current and future classes? No word from CAE on this........yet.
|
Sadly I know the contracts for the new starters, just finishing up the end of the course, have all been voided. easyJet have cancelled them, cancelled the bond repayment and they have been put in the holding pool.
Unprecedented times. |
I'd be surprised to see easyJet hiring any pilots for a very, very long time. It seems almost certain that the fleet will be significantly shrunk and the pilot workforce is fairly young. It's hard to see that easyJet would need to do any significant recruitment for the next decade (assuming it even survives of course).

Thanks you ed.pierce !! You passed it easily ?
Are there any surprising things in stage 2 that I might anticipate more ? |
It's amazing to read how people actually working at EZ are praying to keep their jobs whilst the entire fleet is grounded.... and on the other side you have people totally ignoring this asking what they should expect for stage 2 at the flight school....@ mattpilote you can anticipate to end up with a useless MPL , 120 k poorer and no job ... be wise go modular if you have the money .. work on a plan b
|
If you are in any doubt and for clarification, ask any of the FlyBe MPL pilots what they think of the MPL!
|
Airlines wont be recruiting for many years in big numbers. CAE will not tell you this as they still
want your money, obviously. Walk away. Go do something else, then come back in a couple of years when we know what the future aviation industry looks like. |
Historically, had I been able to afford it, I'd have considered a self-funded MPL with a reputable airline. Now, after the recent situation my view is that unless an airline is paying up front, go for the modular route unless you can still afford to live comfortably after losing the entire lot.
The inherent financial instability of the airline industry is such that getting into pretty much any debt at all during training is not worth the risk, airline programme or no airline programme. |
MPL. Made redundant with 290 hours TT. Will I ever work again? And I suspect there are many others.
|
Guys being made redundant at the moment maybe wondering if they’ll ever fly again. If you think that your position at stage 2 is safe you’ve got another thing coming! Unbelievable people would still entertain MPL or integrated!

With BMI, Monarch, TC & Flybe all gone, now CV-19, flight schedule reductions from Loganair, BA & Easy I cannot see a quick return to hiring low hour FOs.
I know because I had my Loganair Sim Assessment cancelled and HR say that ONLY Flybe or ATR rated crews are being recruited. And even they are looking at ways to prevent redundancies now. Eastern want their FOs to have 1000 hours (I do) and 500 multi (I don't: 52). Then there's Norwegian. Delta. Qantas. Air New Zealand. VA & Gulf states various all cutting back. Missed anyone? Then of course we are leaving EASA allegedly. But here in Scotland we may rejoin if independent. Talk about slowing to Va... Modular has to be the way forward now...baby steps. Or just dive in & hang on financially. Doing my other job I saw a BA A320 leave INV for LHR with 17 pax 25th March. Came back today with 27 I think. That'll work. |

Radio Scotland reporting easyjet to ground it’s fleet - good news is that it will avail itself of the UK government’s 80% salary help.
And Loganair now going cap-in-hand too...there goes my dream for sure! Still, instructing in the Highlands is nice...🏴 |
Guys this is a terrible situation but it won't last forever. I was planning to start an MPL this year (before the emergency), I really hope the market will recover in an year and we'll all be able to be back to our life. This is different to 9/11, people in that case were scared of flying, instead now after the emergency everyone will be willing to fly. It wil take a bit but aviation will recover.

Hello !!
Anybody have some news ? I just know, its locked until the 4th may, but maybe someone, have a friend who have a friend who's work for CAE and know if the program is maintain or not :/ Thanks for all your informations and be strong and patient ;) |
Was under the impression its been axed, I’m due under the ATPL program but obviously everything has gone dead.
|
With the news that trainees already in the system are 'at risk' which could lead to offer termination. I would consider any plans for further programme recruitment to be paused if not cancelled.
