they also pay for your type rating with a 3 year bond where you will be paying 32500 deductible from your salary.
how did u apply?
I applied through OSM aviation. They did a phone interview with me. They asked me what do i think of operational procedures?
and what do i think of CRM?

GomuGomuPilot 3rd Jul 2019 22:19

Hey guys, i will give you the full story so far and ask a qustions later hopefully someone might have the answer for it. Thanks in advance.

I applied for NTR FO SXS through OSM aviation group. They asked for my documents after that the send me a email saying they are checking my docs, next step is a phone interview(no time period was given).
I got a phone call around 5 days later asking bit about me then asking me if I've been to Turkey before, I said no but I did do the research before I applied and told him about it.
He told me sunexpress told him to ask two qustions to me.
1. What do I think of Companys SOP?
(followed with what will you do in a situation if there is no SOP for a situation you are in)
2. What do i think of CRM?
He told me straight I have successfully answered his qustions and he will move my application to next step.
after 15 days or so i received an email from OSM aviation saying my phone interview was successful and I have to go to SXS website and make another application with them. With that email it includes what SXS recruiting method is suche Online exam, sim assessment, and final interview.

I went to SXS website and filled in their online application form. I got a response from them next day asking for my documents. I send all the documents they need within 2hrs. They send me back asking for hightschool diploma certificate. I send them my high school certificate which in UK is A-level certificates. Since then I didn't get any response back from them.

Thank you for reading the long back story. So here is my qustions.
Is A-level (end of high school in uk) is good enough or do they take some time before they respond to me.
I am asking this because its been a week now, From what I see SXS responded almost within a day from I but I didn't hear anything back from them and its been a whole week so far (i know it's not long when it's coming to recruitment process). I will be keep waiting but if anyone know let me know. or if they send a rejected application email?

Thank you.

SpainHire 4th Jul 2019 00:49

End of high school in UK is Age 16. That is GCSEs. A-levels are college/sixth-form level (age 18).

Congrats!
Did you apply through OSM Aviation or directly from SXS? Also have you send your documents to them?

Via OSM :)
The guy told me he will pass the details to SXS and I will go through next step probably next week.
The only documents I sent, were the ones required by OSM at step 0.

i see, well thats what they told me but two weeks later they send me an email requesting to register at SXS website and if they are happy with your details they will send an email requesting docs, then they will check the docs and if they are happy they will send an English test link. Let me know how it goes. Good Luck.

Got the email to fill in the online information on SXS website, it also includes a description of the coming steps. They mention Mollymawk test, how are you preparing for this ?
Skytest has only one test included in the DLR, can't find any website where I can practice this test with no restrictions (on mollymawk official test, you're limited to a couple of trials).
Any update from your side ?

Today Ive been invited to the mollymawk test on 29th of August. After the OSM call you have to apply directly on SXS web and they will contact you for the english test. If you pass it then the next step is to go to Antalya for the mollymawk. I have low hours.

I did, two days ago, august 7th, will let you know when or if I get a call/e-mail... Don't know if it makes a difference whether we apply via OSM or directly with them..

Did you do the test or they said they will send an link for the English assesment?
Thank you.

Oh BTW OSM aviation is like your employer if you get the job even tho you are working under SXS, It's kind of complected They say you will work under OSM but for SXS. Hopefully that will make sense.

todisflying 11th Aug 2019 00:03

can you switch to sxd from the turkey one, once you gained experience if you speak german?

Hogos 11th Aug 2019 10:34

I just did the english test, very straightforward, it's made of 5 parts:
-Grammar
-Listening
-Reading
-Writing
-Speaking

Ensure to have camera, mic, headset, and a paper and pen to write some notes during the listening, and of course 2h where you are free and undisturbed !!
Not like me where in the middle of the speaking the rooster started crowing !
At least they might appreciate my "country side" :}

I applied directly through SunExpress, but back in March. Donīt know if its different now.

Got an invitation afterwards for an online English test.
A few days after I was invited to the Mollymawk in Antalya - then Sim a few weeks after and finally the board interview also in Antalya.

The entire process took about 2 months from i received the first email from them.

May I ask you some questions ?
Is the recruitment done in 3 separate days ? (i mean do we need to travel 3 times to Antalya ?)

Is the interview difficult ?
Do you know something about the pass rate ?
Call it bad luck or what, I went through very low pass rate recruitments, where nobody passed, collecting bad news all around europe, and I spent a lot of money.
I would like to consider this option only if there are good possibilities

I can't answer all of your questions, but yes you will need to travel 3 times to Antalya, if I'm not wrong (but feel free to correct me if necessary) you have to pay for the 1st trip to attend the mollymawk exam (and pay for the mollymawk fees, which are pretty expensive) but if you pass they should pay for your two next trips to Antalya and provide you with preferential fares for the hotel.

Hogos 12th Aug 2019 08:25

Rocket61 thank you for the answer.
How is the Mollymawk ? is it similar to the DLR ?

I'm preparing the DLR, and I read somewhere that it could be recognised, but I'm not sure.

It is done in three separate steps. However SunExpress provide flight tickets with SXS and also has a good deal on the hotel rate.
I have only been through two selection processes - the last one fortunately with a successful outcome. I must admit that I did find it really pleasurable dealing with SunExpress during the entire process! Really great people - a very nice atmosphere at the "Plaza" - great instructor during the sim screening and overall just left me with a really good feeling. Unlike some other airlines around (As far as Iīve been told)

To answer the question whether itīs worth it or not - well thatīs in my opinion quite easy... Do you WANT the job or not? If you want it - like REALLY WANT it - then go for it, and go for it 110%
The pass rate is quite narrow - specially for the Mollymawk - but if you train for it, you can do it!

You will be able to ace what youīre putting your energy into. So do you wanīt to nail the DLR? Then train for the DLR. If you wanīt to nail the Mollymawk, then train for the Mollymawk. All you can!
There is a thread here on this forum regarding the Mollymawk. Also take a little time to search google for turkish pilot forums - there might be something of interest there.

lhc7664 Thank you for the reply.

I'm pretty sure, even if I haven't gone there, that the environment is very nice, good people, and it's needless to say that I would love that job.
The reason why I asked if there are good possibilities to get it, is because if there are, you can prepare it more willingly, rather than an "impossible" job.

For example, it's quite frustrating to do my best for preparing an assessment, when only 10% get it.

Hawker400 15th Aug 2019 10:02

Thanks for your info! Can you tell me about how much you spent in total for the stages with Sunexpress? I just passed the first OSM stage (kind of preliminary but still) I would like to try sunexpress, but only if the cost permits. I'm in another hold pool at the moment, but I'm not into putting all my eggs in one basket. I can easily say it was +1000€ for that one.

Also with the type-rating coming from the salary how much do you expect to take home? (You can DM me if you want) PJN gives a summary but doesn't specify before or after type costs.

I heard you get a place during training + 500€ take-home, if you can confirm?

Sorry for the load of questions and congratulations for passing the stages.

I'm totally on board with living in Turkey and the lower cost of living + myidtravel (if it's still the case with THY and LH?) is a decent offer.

I understand.. If you train for it, youīll have a much higher chance of getting through than 10%..

Also mind that the company actually provides free tickets with SXS to and from the assessments. They provide free transportation from the hotel to the assessment. And the sim is done in a full motion 737 simulator! Bottom line is that they actually invest a lot in the candidates, so I really do believe that they wanīt them all to pass and get all the way through..

The hotel was 45 Euro if I remember correctly. And I was fortunate enough to have SunExpress flights from my home city to Antalya almost daily so flight tickets were provided free of charge. You do have to pay for the Mollymawk though which was 150 Euro.

Iīm still waiting for a start date and a contract, so I donīt know anything specific about take home pay etc. yet. However they provide hotel during training + first week on assigned base after completing training. And I can confirm the 500 Euro during training.

Expenses paied by the company full motion sim, one of the few still recruiting and still complaining, your username really checks out doesn't it

stoneangel 18th Aug 2019 13:51

yeah but, nowadays, some online tests could be done from home....no need to pollute the air more than necessary, don't think so? it's nonsense. What's the technology for ?
Yes you're right, Im sure Snexpress is flexible and let its pilots to leave anytime on request to take any selection as well.

James Ken McIntosh 19th Aug 2019 20:09

Have the requirements changed?

Looking at PJN

your required to have a

University Degree
Be a Turkish Citizen

is is it true?

Prospective_Pilot 19th Aug 2019 22:53

B77WPilot Hey I've been invited for the Mollymawk assessment on the 27 as well. Are you using any other preparation software for the 3 aptitude tests (Time Sharing, Working Memory, Spatial Orientation) apart from the official site itself? Thanks.

stoneangel 20th Aug 2019 17:42

I think it's true, they ask turkish nationality...
It is similar with air astana : they hire through agency, and in the ads you see NTR pilots and then suddenly they ask Type rated !
something wrong somewhere

Hawker400 20th Aug 2019 19:44

I'm not sure about the university degree (I haven't been asked for it), But Turkish nationality isn't current info anymore. There's been 2 posters here that were waiting for work permit after completing everything.
