The first example shown on the Cut-e Spatial Orientation Youtube video is correct. The GYRO indicates in which direction the aircraft flies, while the RBI shows which direction the non directional beacon is located in always relative to the flight direction/longitudinal axis of the aircraft. Regarding the Youtube Video, had you put the aircraft in position 8, it would have meant that the non directional beacon was at NW, and not SE as the RBI shows. Just think it this way: the GYRO shows the aircraft is flying South, so you choose the aircraft pointing down. Then the RBI shows the non directional beacon (the centre) is at SE, which basically means it is behind (South) and on the right (East) of the aircraft. The correct position is therefore position number 4. Other example: GYRO says North and RBI says North West. You select the aircraft pointing up North, then the RBI saying NW tells you that the non directional beacon is above (North) and on the left (West) of the aircraft. Therefore the correct position is the number 4. The explanation is certainly not one of the bests and can be confusing but hopefully this helps you. |

i was pointing this out to someone that posted their interview questions on here. |
Video Interview Assistance
I have managed to complete all of the assessment on time apart from the video interview section which I am experiencing technical issues with. I am able to record my example answers perfectly fine, camera and microphone working, playback working etc. The 'upload' example is also working fine, however when I move on to record my actual interview questions all I get is a blank screen.
I have sent various emails to cut-e over the past two days trying to resolve the issue but to no avail. I have tried everything I can think of. All my cookies and browsing history have been reset, my chrome and flash player are up-to-date and security settings on medium. I realise this is 'last chance saloon' but any techies or IT whizz on here that can assist would be greatly appreciated - deadline is midnight. Thanks |

Lads and Ladies, Hope you’re all not stressing too much, you’ve all finished the exams and they’re out of your hands now so nothing to panic over... just out out of curiosity, is there any of you applying for the Aer Lingus programme who aren’t from Ireland and therefore would be relocating if they got the job? |
By curiosity, I have done a small search via LinkedIn to estimate what is the probability of a non-Irish candidate to get a final offer for this programme.
I came up with an estimated value of less than 3%, meaning that almost all the cadets are Irish, or seeing with another perspective, a non-Irish would be hired every two programmes. I completely understand this trend since Aer Lingus is a flag company, indicating that they prefer to give priority to their nationals. My final conclusion is that, if you are not Irish, then you must have an incredible CV, much probably with aviation related highlights, and be, let's say, in the top 5 of all applicants. I hope all my numbers and conclusions are completely wrong!! AHah Have you ever thought about this? If yes, what is your opinion on the subject? |

Giving priority to Irish candidates was expected, as they would certainly be looking to build a lifetime career at Aer Lingus and would therefore represent a great investment for them. A non Irish candidate could represent a risk for Aer Lingus, as he could be looking to make a move back home one day. However, I believe the best and most suitable candidates will be selected, even if they’re not Irish. Good luck everyone. |
Does anyone know when applicants can expect an indication of how the second assessment went?
|
How many people get in?
Does anyone actually know how many people get accepted to do the course?

Volume of applicants?

I doubt you'll hear anything for maybe 2 - 3 weeks...perhaps longer. I would imagine the workload is high judging by the volume of applicants. I'm not holding my breath as i feel my interview answers were way below par. All the best to everyone else.
Also the job I am in now (non aviation) used cut-e and as far as I remember the successful ones are all told first and then the unsuccessfuls are told about 2 weeks after because of dropouts etc no one is ruled out completely. There was however up to about six weeks between stages. I don't know if the same will apply for this campaign? |
