Dash-Driver 1st Dec 2016 19:48

It took me (non-TR, experienced) 3 weeks for a first invitation to their assessment after applying.
ATPL/company multiple choice test, Group exercise 50-80minutes, 2 interviews (1 personal and 1 technical) and a sim ride on A320 FFS.

good luck

TH3CROW 13th Dec 2016 23:37

Thank you very much for the info!
So, according to you they should be calling me by the end of this week or beggining next one! Jaja. What was you profile? When did they calle you for the assesment? Are you working for WZZ now?
Thank you again!

Dash-Driver 14th Dec 2016 09:47

Your're welcome.
Well nobody will call you, more likely you will be informed by mail. As the end of the world....ehm year is approaching I would expect some more time for an invitation - just a personal thought.

Makss 18th Dec 2016 16:58

Hi everyone! Could somebody, who had the recent experience with the assessment process with Wizzair explain how it is done? What are the stages, what tests do they use (mathematical, psychometric, technical etc.). Thanks a lot!

manflexsrsrwy 2nd Jan 2017 16:14

guys any information regarding the DEC RAPID UPGRADE PROGRAM, what to expect on the day ?
LVO, memory items , general EASA stuff, Fuel policy and ????

are there any mathematics or verbal reasoning , ATPL stuff ?

any info from anyone going through or has been through would be greatly appreciated, very good opportunity not to be ballsed up...

Dash-Driver 3rd Jan 2017 09:29

What I heard from the DE guys, left or right, they asked really much questions about the A320 systems.

Giggey 9th Mar 2017 18:20

Hi guys.As far as you know do you think a person with 3500 hrs jet but not current stands a chance to be called for an ntr assessment?
Thank you

Harete 2nd Apr 2017 10:41

Anybody was on the last assestment

Hi everyone,

Has anyone been to the assestment lately?
How long have they been calling you since you applied?
What did they ask on the assestment?
What bases are available now to enter as SFO?
How many sector do you do monthly?

Thank you very much.

Iver 3rd Apr 2017 16:05

Is Wizzair planning a LTN pilot base?

SoundLesS 5th Apr 2017 13:07

Yes and they will most likely start to fly to USA in the future from that base. LTN will be the first western base in Wizz Air, more to come in the future im sure. The war on Ryanair has begun.

Skipping Classes 5th Apr 2017 19:10

I've also heard they plan to open a base in Barcelona as their first long-haul operation to Thailand.

South Prince 6th Apr 2017 10:51

No base in SFO yet?

kimono1950 6th Apr 2017 11:00

With which aircraft ?

Wizz screening

Hi guys,
any info on latest screening experience/process and facts much appreciated. And I am kindly asking for latest facts and data, not rumors. I see other guys like me are interested also in making their mind up.
Thanks and regards to all.

FL240 17th Jun 2017 19:45

Hi everyone,

Just read through the whole 18 pages.

A bit about me, I'm Australian and also hold a British passport (I really hope brexit hasn't completely crewed me). I have approximately 4200 TT, of which 2000 multi engine piston command, 500 turboprop command and 500 CRJ 200/700/900 FO.

I hold a current ATPL in Australia and FAA plus an EASA CPL/IR/ME.

I have previously lived in Poland and Czech Republic and have no issues moving to and living in whatever base I get. I have no interest in the West, more than happy to enjoy the East and it's lower living costs.

I'm currently working in USA on the CRJ and 6 months from upgrade. I realise though it's not really a great type and so very keen to come back to EU and start on the bus.

My questions are:

1. Is it only 500 in company for upgrade or is there a factorised minimum from within the company too? (Currently around 2400 factorised)

2. Currently I can pick up extra work on days off and block 100-110/month. How hard can I work there?

3. Is it 1500 or 2800 (or something else) factorised to get SFO pay?

Thank you for all serious comments and please feel free to add anything I may have missed

dirk85 18th Jun 2017 00:29

3500 factorized to start the upgrade, but can be reduced to 3000 as an absolute minimum, if your performance is good.

Expect to work 900 hours per year, i.e. the maximum you can legally fly.

1500 factorized to get SFO pay.

Iver 18th Jun 2017 18:48

I would get PIC time in the States if possible. That will always be valued. Plus probably gives you more options down the road. The Wizz pilots I have talked to work very hard for not much dosh.

Cak 19th Jun 2017 07:00

With your experience and position I would stay away from Wizz. Take the command and after some time it shouldn't be difficult to change the type and go somewhere where your hours will be accredited normally. In Wizz they even factorize hour on Bus with 0.8 :ugh::ugh
And the company is in chaos. Managment and planing are doing everything they can to make you miserable. New agency contracts, I wouldn't sign even if it would be the only job in the world.
On top of all the other , now they canceled all commuting contract for July, without any approval from pilots on those type of rosters and only with an e-mail from managment few days before the roster was published

Skipping Classes 19th Jun 2017 15:52

Even many of those who previously defended Wizz Air now left the company. And I don't think its because they have reached the retirement age.

macdo 20th Jun 2017 10:02

I work with several new to the airline FO's who have come from WIZZ . All were close to promotion but chose to leave and sit in the right seat a bit longer. Says it all really.

FL240 1st Jul 2017 05:50

That's for the replies.

What's the current SFO pay? Is it still €1666/month plus €51/sector average? Is there a per day of €90 too I've heard?

Thank you!

classicelica 8th Jul 2017 17:02

Anybody know when the next scheduled interviews are? Or when the last ones were?

PPJN is roughly accurate - 25k EUR/year (minus TR bond if applicable), ~50EUR/sector (more in case of sectors 2h+). The per day is not applicable in every country it seems, they do adjust the numbers so that you get roughly the same amount net considering taxes and cost of living in particular country.

I know of two interviews in May, one in June, but I guess there were more.

FL240 20th Jul 2017 08:48

Any comments on good or bad bases to be in please and why?

dreamlinerguy 20th Jul 2017 12:03

Hey all,

Any updates on Salary and base options for NTR (1000hr) FO positions available?
Invited to Assessment / Interview / Sim middle of Aug.

Thx in advance for your time.

dirk85 20th Jul 2017 12:24

It vastly depends on if and where you need to commute.

FL240 20th Jul 2017 15:15

I'd be living wherever I'm based. Thanks.

Looking for a good mix of routes, ability to fly max hours, good crews and decent amount of aircraft in base

dirk85 21st Jul 2017 09:59

You will fly max hours anywhere. And if you badly ask for it you clearly have no idea how unpleasant it is to do that. Flying 900 hours a year with earlies/lates as wizzair with 30 min turn around is simply soul destroying.
Even just flying 700 or 800 hours would be a big difference, in positive.

You ask only company/base related info, but I remind you that you have to live in this places, not only work.
Living in let's say Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Gdansk, Riga or Vilnius is tremendously different than living in Kutaisi, Chisinau, Craiova or Skopje, quality of life wise.

If you are just interested in the number of planes and network, look at wizzair website on the network map, it's easy to establish where the variety is better. Not helping much when you come back home after 13 hours duty or when you have two days off in the weekend, but if that's not what you are looking for...

Yairgu 21st Jul 2017 10:46

Hi everybody!

I have an assesment with Wizz next month and I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can answer my following questions:
1. Where would you recommend doing sim prep on an A320?
2. What ATPL subjects are the most important for the written test and the interview?
3. Are there any things, other than the above, I should prepare for?

Thank you for your time!

Thank you. My wife and I have lived in Prague and Warsaw before and had no issues. Thanks for the list of places not like those two.

I'm currently flying 1000 per year with 4-7 sectors and 30 min turns. 900 will be easier and far easier than previous jobs I've had.

Do people normally get a 10-20 min phone interview before being invited to an interview? Any ideas on what to expect? Thanks

TBSC 22nd Jul 2017 07:52

Wizz bases with 4 or more aircraft: Budapest, Bucharest, Cluj, Skopje, Warsaw, Katowice, Gdansk, Vilnius, Sofia.

Budapest is impossible to get as new entry. For the others it's about personal preference, but having been in all of them my choice would be Warsaw, Vilnius or Gdansk.
Money wise Gdansk is the base with highest number of sectors (due to short flights).

BusAirDriver 22nd Jul 2017 11:05

FL240 -
I am slightly intrigued, you say "I'm Australian and also hold a British passport" but you working in the USA on the CRJ, out of personal interest and curiosity, how you managed to get work permit in the USA?

rudestuff 22nd Jul 2017 13:40

Australian pilots can get work visas for the US.

BusAirDriver 22nd Jul 2017 14:35

How come? British or EU pilots can't get work visa for USA or Australia as far as I know.

I am just curious on what criteria Australians can get for a commercial job.

maximus610 22nd Jul 2017 15:16

They do get E3 visa. There are several threads about this on here.
