I think we can give up on this one..................:*

FrenchScotPilot 7th Mar 2010 09:06

Well it certainly looks like it... I guess they would have all the people they need by now to train them for the summer.
It would have been nice to get an answer though, some people did get a no, most got nothing, I wonder why...

Best regards,

FSP

ToMss 8th Mar 2010 05:32

Last news : I get a "no" by mail last week.

My profil : French, training with BFS in Charleroi and Valenciennes, MCC with CAE in Brussel, 650h total, ex glider instructor... see you next ;)

FrenchScotPilot 8th Mar 2010 09:22

Oh so they still send out rejection messages...

fly_antonov 10th Mar 2010 06:13

The candidates have already been selected.
I heard some statistics on this hiring round and I can tell you that they are not pretty.

600 applications for 30 places is underrated.

There were only 12 openings and the applications you can multiply them by 6 at least and add those who didn' t make it into the clogged mailbox. :ugh:

Chances of individuals were in the 0.0X% range with 2<X<4.

If you don' t get an answer, give them a break.
They are certainly overwhelmed by the huge amount of triage work they are dealing with.

Griego 11th Mar 2010 10:53

I have been to their selection not long ago. Did not make it do. Theory test was hard, very hard. I wonder if their pilots would get through either. Anyway if you get invited you better hit the books. And don't worry the questions are not out of an ATPL database. Somebody had fun inventing questions with African plates and studybooks next to him. Anyhow I heard 700 cv got screened 120 selected. They don't want to get into problems with discrimination laws so maybe you get invited for and only for that reason? No feedback is given if you fail. Good luck for the ones invited and you better know your stuff.

600 candidates for 12 positions and already selected, 700 candidates and 120 selected ... take your pick, this is truly a rumors network ...

fly_antonov 12th Mar 2010 17:06

Thousands have been received, 700 have been screened, 120 have been selected to participate to the selection process and 12 will get a job.

Semantics.

Hi,

I filled up the excel file and sent it back at the beginning of february. No news since then. One week ago, I asked by email if the recruitment process was still ongoing. No answer.

Is there anybody else in the same situation?
Lots of guys got a negative answer a few days after applying so I guess they should send an answer to all the applicants?

I speak one of the lingo requested and have 2000 hours Jar 25.

Goedemorgen 27th Mar 2010 18:26

I'm in the same pos. low timer

TangoPapaCharlie 28th Mar 2010 09:39

I have heard that in addition to Dutch and French that Icao level 6 Flemish is now required. Does anybody know any Self-funded Type Rating and hour programs that offer 500 hours of Flemish also?

Thanks!

despegue 2nd Jun 2010 15:51

Flemish does not exist as a language... We speak Dutch and French in Belgium.
Flemish people speak Dutch as native-language.

So troll, back to bed...

kOOk 22nd Jun 2010 12:47

They are hiring again, for those who didn't know yet...

MKA742 22nd Jun 2010 13:19

Am I lucky or unlucky?

I just can't believe my current situation.

Last year I was flying in Namibia until they fired me because of a 'lack of buisiness'. :{

After pushing cargo around in Belgium for 9 months they invited me back so I was very happy I would be flying again. :ok:

The first week I got back here, Brussels Airlines asked for my details again. I figured to send it in, keeping in mind that the odds re quite small.
Unbelievable, they invited me for the interview the next week.

Now my boss won't let me go because we are only with 2 pilots here (btw if anyone has over 400 hours and would like to fly a Cessna 210 in Namibia, let me know).

She said if I go the the interview at Brussels Airlines, which I can do in 9 days, I can stay there.

So now I have to choose between a job I have (but VFR hours on a single) or a small chance at airline life...

I bet lots of you would love to be in my position now but I really don't know what to do. It feels soooo bad to stand up a chance like that, no matter how small it is. Yet i HAVE a job and don't want to give that up.

Pfff :ugh:

DME11.2 22nd Jun 2010 18:42

And where exactly can you apply? I don't see any vacancies on their site.
Thanks!

flying_tiger 23rd Jun 2010 12:28

I would go...

I would go, depending on how often you had the chance to be invited to a job interview within the last year(but it seemed not to be that many times...) and depending what you would rather do in your career pilot, but if working for an airline is your deepest wish, don't let such an opportunity go away... others won't let go...only the ones who tried may have succeeded...
I wish you the best.

johnnyDB 23rd Jun 2010 12:40

i would go to the interview anyway, could be namibia is just blowing smoke up your ...
