nice. 10/10

tttoon: I don't like getting into silly fights. What I posted originally (and you attacked) was harmless. But, you felt the need to tell me how it is. Buddy, you threw the first stone and if you wish to trade insults then I would be more than happy to play your game and we can go all day long. I insulted nobody, but somehow you felt the need to defend "something". If you have an opinion then state it without massaging your ego by degrading somebody else.

Cheers,
:ok:

Hello ToMss,

Brussels Airlines fly also with A319 and A330, so it would be a good career challenge for myself. Anyway I didnīt receive any email till now, so probably they donīt want old guys like me :ugh:

tttoon 28th Jan 2010 16:04

Buddy, I wasn't attacking you lpokijuhyt, just what you said. It is based on pure fiction has no relevance in this thread. When I pointed that out, you were so nice to direct me to that site, a truly valuable contribution to this discussion. Two posts below you say you never insulted anyone. wtf?

mukoba737 29th Jan 2010 16:15

I tried SN as well... but when i called the a guy who claimed to be the crew planing manager told me that (as mentioned in this thread) there are so many belgian nationals that they have a lot to do simply checking these applications first.
but I should send my application and await for respond.

Belgium has very strict rulkes when it comes to the nationals employed.

hello,
I've seen that there is a theory test first before the sim ride. Does anybody know what this test deals with ?

fly_antonov 30th Jan 2010 17:27

The answer is in the thread... ATPL stuff.
Weather, air law, general knowledge, performance, etc...
Sometimes questions are not multiple choice, but written answer.

Best is to go through all your ATPL books before your selections session.

Evening SW1 and Phenom100,

Just out of curiosity, how did you apply to Brussels Airlines? I received an out of office autoreply from their Pilot Recruitment email address so I'm not sure if they received it or not. Perhaps they just didn't like the cut of my jib!

Cheers,

ZW

Have a look at ppjn.com or pilot career centre. If not the Brussels Airlines website has the details.

ZuluWhiskey 1st Feb 2010 21:33

Thanks for your reply SW1.

I sent my CV and application to their pilots.recruitment email address on 16/01/10 but haven't heard a thing except the autoreply. I have 650 hrs total and speak French. Oh well...

Good luck!

Hi SW1,
Do you know other websites as ppjn.com or pilot career centre ?
Thank you very much,

What do you mean by strict rules? Can you post a link or explain roughly their rules?

Just curious.

ropraider 2nd Feb 2010 15:46

I applied on the 19th and got the excel sheet on the 27th, nothing more since then.
Did anyone recieve a reply after sending the excel sheet?

rirififiloulou 2nd Feb 2010 15:53

No news to be expected before 15/02.
900 Cvs received and priority will be given to experienced candidates (according to a staff recruitment member)

The language issue is a particularly sensitive subject in Belgium, and is deeply rooted in the country's history and identity. Passengers would expect a non-Belgian pilot on a Belgian airline to have "made the effort" to be equally fluent in Dutch and French, as greater fluency in one community's language would be a perceived slight to the other's. My mother tongue is English, but I learnt Dutch (Flemish) when I was there, and it was very much appreciated. (It's not hard - Dutch is the closest related foreign languauge to English.)
