Well seeing that you will have a rating on the 340 in a few weeks time, you probably have a better chance than anyone!

Hey guys, this is mainly aimed at those in the "know" ie Loganair employees, but if anyone else has any info feel welcome to share.
So are Loganair looking to expand or are they content with remaining in survival mode. I read they were looking to buy bigger aircraft, is there an update on this, and are they considering any new routes? |

The Saab 340s will be about for a number of years.
No new larger types on the horizon. As an outfit - excellent first job to gain 1000+ hours TP experience. |

Does anyone have any new information on the recruitment plans for these guys for the remainder of the year? Has their self-funded type rating / base training scheme bit them on the bum or are they getting a steady flow of people through their door regardless? Still think they would be a great bunch to fly for, so any forthcoming information would be greatly received.

I don't know much about their current recruitment, but I did get an e-mail to attend an interview between March 19-23. After carefully looking at everything they offer and the bond they require I have decided not to attend. Saab340 is a great machine, but I am already going captain on a MU-2 which is turbo prop. Does someone know what will be asked at the interview, and what its like? Will there be a sim ride? Its regarding F/O on the SAAB. I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find any new information. Thanks |

It amazes me with the todays technology and on line application forms why any airline should advertise for pilots. Why bother filling in the online application with essay questions when you see them advertising with FI. Its not a go at Loganair, but they could have saved money by:
1 Trolling thru the on line applications to find suitable candidates. 2 Not having on line apllications 3 Not advertising By that I mean most wannabe will have filled out the application and spent time and effort in doing so. Why bother in having on line application when your just going to put simple ad in FI. Why spend money on both.:ugh: |
Could it be that they have trolled through the online applications and haven't in fact got enough 'suitable candidates'? I'm sure like all airlines, they have more applications than they know what to do with from 200 hour types.
What Logan need is captains and/or experienced people with quick potential for command. It's a buyers market out there (see the size of the Flybe ad in last weeks' Flight?) so I guess they have to advertise to try and keep their profile a little bit high amongst the tiny-and-shrinking pool of experienced and available turboprop people who aren't already on a yes letter from a jet operator. |
Every imagination probably goes to the fact that the airline knows that a lot of people who have previously completed application forms online have either now got jobs or their circumstances have changed. No potential employer could be arsed wasting time contacting an aray of different people to find out that half of them (ok, maybe a bit rich on the estimate) aren't interested in joining any more.

I think the online applications are set to screen out anyone not suitable depending on their answers, therefore say out of 500 applications only 100 will pass through the screen and actually arrive on HR's desk.
In answer to the main question, maybe not everyone has access to a computer or the ads may just direct you to the particular airline that is recruiting at that moment. |
Logan Air??

Just a quick post to catch up with what's happening in the world of Logan Air at the moment. Would really appreciate any input from current logan staff especially new joiners to the company, on current recruitment status, selection process etc... Nope, I sent my CV via fax and got called for interview in 4 days. Sadly I had to decline...pay is way too low for me, but sounds like a good company for experience especially if you can bond instead of pay for the rating.

assuming you had done some basic research on logi then you should have known what the pay scales are: why waste everbody's time with your application? unless you were hoping that PD will be so greatfull to see you he would hand you a big cheque?:) |
