Mr cavok italy, air sea lines as far as i know only hires commercial pilots, they dont hire people who want to do time building, there are a lot of guys there that have more than 4000 hours flying floatplanes,so if you wanna become a pilot of air sea lines for time building thats not going to help you at all. There are some guys that moved to viking airlines and aegean airlines so there might be some few spaces left for f/o but i dont believe they are going to give you the seat.1st of all they need commercial pilots,no time builders,2nd of all they need you to speak greek Good luck though

Come on guys, give Cavok_Italya break.
He is new in the industry and he is discovering what it is about and how he should go about to make it his career. 250 Hours is nothing and the guy is learning because perhaps he doesn't have that many contact in the industry yet (they will come), no reference other than what you guys will tell/teach him.

When I came back from the bush, I experienced the same crisis.... Luckily, the company I then joined, used clipped ties as opposed to do it yourself .
It made my transition onto the new type, a little bit easier .
Now that I have built time on that tie (or type), I can even tie my own (new outfit, new ties) and I hope some day to achieve the ultimate.... To be able to tie a double bow .
As for the point on why people believe the Maldives would be a good place to start, I think it is quite belief amongst new pilots than anywhere which isn't in Europe/US, is place a for low timers.
They also tend to believe that Cargo outfits have lower requirements but in reality things aren't that clear.
First requirements from one operator to another, vary all the time as it depends on what is happening on the day. (a few guys leaving suddenly, a new contract appears etc...)
Then you have some, again no matter where, who have to stick to lower insurance premium by hiring more experienced guys (TT or on type or both).
You also have the guys who hire, higher time guys because of customer requirements (ie they want "experienced ATPL" or something like that).
And of course you have specialist operators who feel their theatre of OPS, require more specialised experience.
So there is room for low timer everywhere but as usual, you will have to dig the right info, probably be lucky in your timing and show some commitment.
Finally the best place for low timers is probably in Europe. After all where else are you going to be able to fly a Boeing or an Airbus with only 250 hours TT ?
And this isn't rare either...
Of course from an experience perspective, I know where I wanted to start my career and what made me dream and it wasn't the big jets. Then again I am little bit of a dreamer

cavok_italy,
Try www.transmaldivian.com/career.htm if your interested in floats, I believe a few Italians worked there before. But if you wanna build hours for future airline job I would suggest find a job where you can log some instrument time.
Good luck!

Jerry wouldn't be TW would it?
What is a TW ?
I think it is quite belief amongst new pilots than anywhere which isn't in Europe/US, is place a for low timers…
…the best place for low timers is probably in Europe. After all where else are you going to be able to fly a Boeing or an Airbus with only 250 hours TT ?
I think you are right in both statements, but it is odd because you would think that anyone clever enough to get a CPL/ATPL would not be silly enough have this gap between belief and reality enter into their heads. The grass is not always greener…
Try www.transmaldivian.com/career.htm if your interested in floats,
Swinglet, I think we already established that the Maldives is not the place try if you merely have an interest in floats; i.e. it is really only worth trying once you are already an experienced floatplane pilot…

Thanks a lot for giving me a break
Indeed I'm really very new. I'm still a PPL, even if with pretty good flight time.
I'll consider all your infos, thank you all a lot.
