new sponorship opportunity

This might be old news but whilst flipping through this months Flyer mag I noticed a advert from Gloucester Aviation (or similar) saying they're looking for someone to run their ops dept. In return they will 100% sponsor through to fATPL (I guess that means no salary).

Applicants should be 17-22 with 5 GCSE's and a-levels I think.

Good luck.

Hey - got any other details that you may have found after you posted the message? Like an URL?

Thanks in advance.

Unless there are a couple of people doing this, it sounds like the one offered by Aeros at Gloucestershire (Staverton) airfield. They posted a few weeks back, got a gentle cuff round the ears for advertising, then stony silence. Someone tried to set the ball rolling again, but again, no info. Try them on 01452 857419, or write at Gloucestershire airport, Cheltenham, Glos. GL51 6SP.

Haven't checked for further info, but the URL is http://www.aeros.co.uk

Yep, that's the one. Don't know any more details other than what was in the back of Flyer mag.

I'm too far down the line now to go for it but it look pretty good for a young, no commitments, no mortgage, no job type of wannabe.

Good luck

Opportunties come in many guises. This would appear to be one.

There are others around that perhaps you only get to hear of when you are somewhat inside the industry. Todays crappy refueling and cleaning job become tomorrows ops job becomes tommorows ticket into a flying job. Its always happened and always will.

For your information (and I hope that the people at Aeros don't mind me saying this), this position came available because the previous guy on ops got onto the easyJet sponsorship scheme and was going off to CTC to start training. The staff at Aeros were sad to see him go, but it just shows what can be achieved if you're already in the industry and doing an aviation related job.

For my part, the staff at Aeros are great and whoever gets the job will get a great environment in which to work, and you'll learn loads, not just to learn to fly.

Ive just applied for this job, don’t have any other info on it except what was in the flyer mag.

Aeros Flight Training Organisation, are currently seeking someone to run their busy Operations department. In return Aeros will fully sponsor the successful applicant through to frozen ATPL.
This is an exiting opportunity for someone to kick-start their flying career and is open to applicants between 17 to 22 years, with a minimum of 5 GCSE`s, to include Maths and Science. Must be outgoing and able to use own initiative, Flying experience would be preferable.
Applicants to include C.V., photo and covering letter in own handwriting.

I’m doing the stage 2 for CTC in May, be weird if I got both and went to CTC, living in dreamland now sorry!

Good luck to all who apply

Just wondered if anyone had spoke to the guy who used to work at aeros for his opinion on the job or if he is out there and has any advise.

Like WWW says these are the foot in the door type oportunities - I've been working in ops at a busy commercial field and have had more than one job offer when my training is complete. Right place, right time and its who you know - you'll be surprised how small the industry is.
