Which flight school to train at?
I am looking to train for my ppl during the summer and was wondering where to train?
I live in Scotland and was looking for information on flight schools in Scotland and any comments from those who have completed training in Scotland.
Does it make a great deal of difference to airlines where you do your training? If so where would the best place to train, I don't mind travelling in order to find the right flight school.
Any advice or comments would be gratefully received.
Thanks.

There are many threads on this very topic but I will try and summarise the key points for you.
First you need to decide how you will train, either by the modular or the integrated route. If you do the Integrated - i.e. from zero experience through to fATPL then some believe that Oxford is the way to go, although there are many on here who would disagree.
If you do the modular route then you can do your PPL at any approved school. The CPL course is also done at an approved FTO but once again that is down to personal choice. Location, cost and pass rates are good considerations.
Some swear by the Integrated route at Oxford and believe it gives them a better chance with the airlines but I think this has not been proven in any convincing fashion. The airlines look for people with an fATPL and then experience is a big factor. For us wannabes experience will be varied and with the current market, any job will be hard to come by.
Search these forums and you will find all the information you need.
There are people with far more experience than me on here but I hope this gives you a start.
Regards
