Nothing to do with someone’s gender but more the fact 10,000 applicants and one of the first 10 is the direct relation to the tui training captain.
ironic to say the least.
to say TUI wouldn’t have nepotism is just iggnorant

Best stay away from aviation as you won't get very far with your attitude. I'm sure there were dozens of applicants who have a relative who works for TUI. Think about it. Company decides to sponsor some pilots. Said scheme is widely publicised internally throughout TUI. Pilots, engineers, cabin crew, holiday reps, travel agency staff etc etc etc are all included as part of internal comms. TUI will get hundreds of applications from relatives. Not surprising that some of them get an offer. Good luck to this young lady. Luckily, she has the resilience to deal with people who have a poor attitude to their own success.

With virtually zero expections, whenever a family member of current staff makes it into something this competitive it almost always has to do with their influence.
You can call me out on this but after 30 years in this industry I have seen it countless atimes.

It’s a real shame that someone who has done incredibly well and who has gained a place on the MPL programme on their own merit should be discredited and the TUI recruitment team accused of nepotism. A lot of jealousy and bitterness around perhaps?

That said im unsure why the page is no longer up. You dont usually take down the whole page when making updates, and I dont recall them doing this last year which worries me that they might not be recruiting for the program in 2025.
I know that the new 737 deliveries have slowed significantly and with the economy in its current state who knows. These programs have come and gone in the past!
Ofc I really hope they arent stopping it and on the plus, I think I saw BA say they are increasing their intake to 200/year moving forwards. Hopefully this is just anxious speculation and there will still be these great opportunities to try for, at least a while longer.

I havent heard anything from tui plus the page still doesn't exist. That being said the whole careers website looks like it was updated and changed very recently. Maybe they will update and republish the page later on when they revise the job spec for next year. Its not looking promising though with Boeing now suspending production of 737s which is most of tui uk fleet, I wouldnt be surprised if they stopped or paused recruiting for a few years while they wait for the deliveries to resume

Thats great news, thanks for sharing, I would be very happy to be wrong about it not opening next year. If their pilot manager posted that I imagine it means the will reopen next year, im not sure why they would say that unless they knew it would reopen?

Mate seriously, saying things like this and having this attitude will get you nowhere in life. As a current TUI MPL Cadet I can honestly say how ignorant you are with such a comment. This person must have showed the right attitude and determination to be where they are today and for you to come along and say it's down to nepotism is disgusting. You honestly do not deserve a place on any MPL Scheme with attitudes like this. Grow up and stop being so angry with the world, you horrible person.
Honestly, when it comes to the interviews and assessments the interviewers were likely assessing for ‘could this person be responsible enough to have the lives of 150+ people in their hands’. They definitely weren’t thinking ‘let’s just put safety on the back burner and keep flying in the family 👍🏼’. She still did the assessments and the hard work, give her credit for that, don’t knock her down because of something she has no control over.

I agree, TUI will have set criteria and scorings and if you make the mark you're in, if you don't you're out. Its unfair to say someone's hard work is due to nepotism. Knowing someone at any company would certainly be helpful for any industry and company. I'm sure we would all offer advice on a business if our friend or family was applying but certainly not be able to give them a job or an unfair advantage at a massive company.
