No mention that the overall outcome will be based on the weighted average of both the assessment day and simulator assessment. What do you guys think?
Hi Goose - I hope you're well! I think they will look at everything as a whole. It's hard to compare 50 people with a wide range of experience on one sim assessment as that would strongly favour those already with their PPL's due to them having flight experience. I think they're looking for people who showed improvement throughout the sim session and people they can genuinely see as TUI Pilots, which would be based on how we came across at the assessment day and during the sim!

The wait continues ay!

Of course they will look at the assessment scores too and I suspect they will have them scores in numerical order to give a current ranking. (that’s certainly how we do it in my current job)
They know the final 50 are worthy of a place on the scheme so I think they will look at how we responded to the simulator, how we learn, seek to improve, etc. More than anything I think it’s how we took to the session and our attitude to it too, seeing whether we are the type of people they want to teach as a cadet (and if we can fly a 737 straight and level to start with!)
If they think you aren’t the type of person they can teach over 18 months or not the fit they are looking for ( we look for overly confident or cocky individuals when assessing as that can lead to a clash with instructors and poison the learning environment) then I suspect you will be crossed off.
But who knows at this stage! I personally think it’s best to not speculate how they do it and just have beer and wait. Chances are they’ve already decided and are waiting on contracts to be finalised. At the end of the day just being in the final 50 deserves a pat on the back… and you got to fly a 737 with a TUI captain while you were at it!
I agree with this T1D, I think it is likely we were all ranked Pre-Sim assessment based on our assessment days and then re-ranked taking into consideration the Sim assessment. This will then result in the top 36 being those that have ranked the best overall from the assessment day and the sim!

Like you said - we shouldn't speculate, but its very hard not too! Most of my days at the minute are occupied thinking about the outcome of this recruitment process and the thought of one day being a TUI Pilot flying the 737!

Yep FLY I get that feeling ahaha. The wait is worse than the assessments!
It’s been a long ole process and has took nearly six months of our lives to get to this point (no pressure)!
Hopefully they take a leaf out of BAs book who increased from 60 spaces to 100 due to the standard of applications being so high.
I’ll remain hopeful that we hear something by early June

Hi everyone,

Just had the fortunate phone call and was offered a place. Luckily my partner picked up the phone.

It was a standard call quite brief. Was offered a place and of course i accepted, said to keep an eye out on my emails for more information, i’m guessing contract stuff. I was offered my preferred starting date in September so if anyone else is starting in September it would be great to speak with you.

Has anyone else had the good news or emails yet?

CONGRATS! Bet you’re over the moon! No word here yet and I’m surprised not have seen more discussion of calls that have been going out.
Keeping my fingers crossed still. May be doing it course by course… I picked November!

Congratulations! Maybe they're waiting till they've called all successful applicants to send out emails or contracts. Have you had an email yet?

Has anyone else heard anything? I find it baffling only one person on here has mentioned anything. I’d expect everything (accepts, rejections) to go through within a day so people aren’t waiting around fearing the worst.
They did say w/c 10th and they’d let us know if it would be sooner?
Dunno, I said not the speculate but I feel like a grenades been dropped now ahaha

Yeah don’t worry about it Sky, no one else has heard a peep so ignore it.
they said that results would be w/c 10th and they would update us if it were sooner. No update so 10th still stands. One more weekend though!

Just wondering - has anyone spoken to the team? I think that one post was a bit random but they’d 100% contact everyone on the same day just to avoid this kind of thing
