How to become an airline account manager? Career advice needed from veterans please.

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone could offer advice or simply share thoughts please.
I worked in the airline industry for about a decade, until 2020. Specialised in airport ticketing to be precise. Love using GDS and learning new things. Transferred to TMC / business travel and now trying to find my way back to aviation, finding business travel rather boring.
What is the best way to go about this? My dream role eventually would be something like account manager or partner manager, with an airline. Learned a lot about these roles in corporate in the past two years, and would absolutely love to take my career in that direction.

Now I was offered a role with an airline, however I am not sure whether this would be a good choice considering my long-term goals. The role is in the field of revenue accounting / ticket auditing.
What bothers me is that I do not know what networking or other opportunities would I have if I accepted this job? Would this be a good stepping stone? I do not wish to be stuck in a boring office job. Would it be better to hold on until a sales executive role comes along? Should I return to check-in with an airline and start from scratch? I didn't find it appropriate to ask this question during the interviews.
Posting here is probably a long shot but I thought it might be worth a try.
If anyone has any thoughs to offer, I will be most grateful.

Afraid LinkedIn may be a better place for you to post, this forum is mostly for pilot roles.

Post the airline name and we can advise on what the crew food is like though
