Jet2 MPL Scheme? Is it coming?
Has anyone seen the 'Blooper' Video they have posted on Facebook and LinkedIn today? A mention of a Pilot CV and another mention of interview. Is it possible that we could see Jet2 launch a pilot MPL scheme similar to their mates at Tui? Anyone else have any insight?
The pilot apprentice scheme has always attracted far more applicants than there are places. If they need more low time pilots they could just take on more apprentices, why go to all the effort of setting up an MPL course ?

I agree.
The only reason I can think is that like Tui, they are beginning to recognise the financial barrier to pilot training, and are trying to come up with ways to help that, whilst ensuring they have enough pilots for the future. The Apprenticeship still relies on the cadet having £50-70k in the first place.

Putting 2 and 2 together I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some kind of ab-initio scheme not unlike the TUI MPL. Hopefully it wouldn't remove the need for the current pilot apprenticeship if that ends up being the case.

Although we all look down on P2F a jet, P2F is still the standard for getting a CPL/IR. I don't think we'll ever be in a situation where companies sponsor people's training from zero. The pilot still will pay whatever route they take to the cockpit. I think a lot of these schemes are just free publicity at best or airlines actively making money out of training at worst

BA CityFlyer have used the MPL will great success training on the B737-800 simulator at FTEJerez.
There is no doubt that 120 hours simulator gives the MPL student a significant head start over the MCC/APS with only a third amount of time practicing multi crew operations. The type rating course is identical irrespective of which route you follow.
Line training as well should be an easier passage. Not as easy as say the Modular route where for at least a year you have been a one man band operating as single crew; essentially different learning curves to achieve as the various stages of training to produce the same standard for the RHS
