My dears colleagues,
I attach here a mail that I received, I won't say anything about it, i only believe we passed the no sense point.
I want to share this with you all, maybe is just me that I don't understand why the aviation world is going this way.

I wish best career at everybody

Yeah... i got answer from Blue Air few days ago. They want 31000€ for 737 typerating but they can not guarantee you the job. I found out here on forum that they already have a lot of pilots in waiting pool, still recruiting though. I really do not like the way how airlines treat us new pilots nowadays.

While I am not totally against Pay-To-Fly I find this outrageous. I can understand that they would charge you for ground school as a bond or maybe in case you would drop yourself. But this?

What really bugs me is that - how come there are people out there who invest, say 50 000 USD in ATPL, then almost 90 000 in PtF.
Are pilot's salaries so high in some places that you can get even in 10 yrs or something?

Was there anything shocking about this? I’m not surprised. Reason why the pay & benefits is always going down.

“the fool & his money were soon parted”

no sympathy from me if they get let go at 200hrs with no jobs and no airlines wanting to take them in.

I’ve actually been offered pay to fly , 14000 hrs jet and 10000 PIC .
lost 3 jobs in 6 months due to 737MAX groundings , the last one said that they wouldn’t offer me the DEC job because I wasn’t current ??? Having not flown in 6 months .
in the next breath then offered me DEC if I paid for the line training . WTF is going on ?

You said it yourself, the grounding of the 737-MAX.... and on top of that the outbreak that is keeping passengers at home.

Furthermore you're in a branch where pilots pay the entire education themselves, mostly due to flying being every boys dream.... and the more the not so merrier...

I hope you find something. Otherwise we are lacking controllers all over the world.

At some point as a collective we MUST realize our labour is the reason things are running (free movement of goods and people, skydiving, air recon etc...). As an individual, I don't hesitate to point the finger at sh*t conditions when I see them and answer to these kinds of mails in consequence. Being honest is enough, you can't expect to behave like a miserable insect and receive respect from the massive boot that is crushing us with these working conditions.

Man the eff up. I had little leverage to make my job refusals impact the grand scheme of things in the past, but my job prospects improved and telling the truth to these slavers improves pride greatly (for those that still have some).
