They are looking to take 18, not 40.

E-Mailed and got what seems to be the generic response. Also asked about feedback and they said they wouldn't be able to supply any due to the high number of applicants, seems reasonable.

Surely if there are that many applications there not going to be overly pressed for back-ups if all the selection days have been filled. Would have thought if I'm in the mid-range candidates then I'm unlikely to get any positive news, given how competitive it is.

I think itís pretty much easy to say that people in the no email, no call status - as me - at 99% will not be Aer Lingus cadet, at least this year, unless something unpredictable happens.
But I think the behavior itís quite unfair as after so long, at least a note explaining the reason why thereís no answer should be quite deserved and fair.
I think we all should be thankful Aer Lingus running such an amazing programme with no pointless language barriers as other airlines do, but itís not really fair not telling anything after so long.
Itís like getting a 3hrs slot delay and no one from the cockpit/ cabin crew saying why we are still at the gate. I think theyíd blame flight crew behavior in such a situation and I think this is more or less the same

According to a source in Boards.ie theyre looking for 24.

Perhaps there could be 2 intakes? We can only know in the future. For now lets just wait what AL says.

Like all people here, I do hope that's true, but where did you hear it?

I want to believe there is still hope with my no call/no e-mail status but reality is so cruel and maybe only one percent chance exist for passing to the next stage

Hey everyone! I've been tracking this thread for the last few weeks, thought it appropriate to give my own "no call no email" status. Appear to be in limbo with everyone else! My own assessment at this point is I must be in some manner of "reserve" list, so I've zero expectation to get an invite, yet equally I'm prepped to get a last minute "can you attend tomorrow" message just in case. Not ideal eh?! Are there many other still in this camp? Keen to see what the numbers are like. Thanks!

Be interested to know what you heard that and who from! Bit of a merry-go-round all this hope and disappointment!

Also in the no call, no email camp. It's disappointing to have no feedback at all. Personally have given up hope at this point

No call or email yet for me too. I am hoping of a reserve list or second intake and a last minute call. Suit has been to the dry cleaners!

Any feedback from those of you who did the assessments this week? Without giving too much away to those who have yet to have yet to go in, can you give us a flavour as to what happened on the day? I'm also in the no email / no call camp....

Those who haven't heard back are in a reserve list.

Where did you hear that? Seems a high amount, any idea on how many might be in that list?

I am sorry to inform but that is not true. Unfortunately I was not able to finish all the test on time due to personal reasons and even without completing all the tests, I am in the so called "No e-mail/no call". I think it is pretty obvious that due to a high number of application this year they simply filtered through the list the top candidates in the online assessments and after this step they reviewed the interviews to select the ones going to the assessment center. For remaining candidates, they simply did nothing.
I know this is what people do not want to read, but I truly believe "Game is Over" for this process.
Nevertheless, if you really want to become a pilot, just head to a modular course (yes, I am against the stupid prices practiced at integrated courses) and don't wait for new opportunities like this to come since the probability of getting a position is pretty low and time is a factor against you (nowadays not so true in fact, fortunately). Of course if they appear then you apply, but at least you have something to show to them: interest and pro-activity.
Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you all in the sky in the near future. Just never give up.
Regards.

Chances of them needing their reserve list are slim to none, I suspect they'll get the required 12-24 cadets from the 234.

I'd say it is quite true - perhaps some really small number of candidates here would be called in as extras, most probably ones from Dublin to keep things simple... As anything else stated in the forum here - it is pure assumption.

It's been nice while it lasted Good luck to everyone who progressed to next stage and congratulations to selected ones! It's great job.

Yes guys, it's been a very long wait... I lost any hope now, although no email/no call. Real shame, it was the last 'stop' for me before commencing the last route of modular way. I really daydreamed I could be joining them. Good luck to those invited - a real chance and privilege.
