Hi there, thanks for your advice. Generally is the cost of living in the states lower than in the UK? I like the Southern part of the US as with regards to the laid back attitude and climate. Alot of my friends have been advising me to get the JAA license and work in Europe as its more "cushy" than in the US.

My boyfriend is American but I wont marry him for a green card lol. He is also living here in Scotland at the moment trying to get a aircraft mechanics apprenticeship but finding it hard.

I have alot of options because of him but i've heard horror stories about crap pay and being treated badly over there, their crime rate etc. I dunno if i should save and get the license or pay as i go, i can afford 3-4 flying lessons per month.

Would you say you have a better life in the states than in the UK or is it tougher?
