Oxford Aviation Assessment - Advice please!

Dear All,

I'd really appreciate any advice anyone can offer for the Oxford Aviation Assessment day I will be attending on Sunday morning.

How can I best prepare?
What should I be ready to expect?

  • Get yourself the latest copy of COSMOPOLITAN from WHSmith, give it a good read to brush up on all the latest news.
  • Play as much Wii Bowling as you can between now and sunday for improved hand-eye coordination.
  • Makes sure you go out on saturday night and drink a minimum of 10 pints with your friends to calm the nerves.
Seriously though, you deserve to go to OAA as blind and anxious as everyone else who has gone through the same process, stop asking sneaky questions.

One should have the intelligence and common sense to know how to prepare and what to expect. They shouldnt lazily come on here and ask to be spoon fed the SPECIFIC things they need to revise nor what to tests to expect. Google is man's best friend and and insider information (as the OP was requestint) is just allowing dossers to have an advantage and blag their way into passing it - I could quite easily give out information that would drastically increase someone's chances of passing first-time compared to not knowing...

KEEP IT FAIR PEOPLE

Oh dear..

Well said Roger-Wilco. As for you Mr/Ms MColson... your first post... 8.31pm on a Friday..seeking information/help guidance about an Oxford assessment to be attended just 36 hours later...

I'm sorry but your lack of preparedness is lamentable!

Having failed this assessment twice and passed on the third attempt I can quite accurately advise you that between now and Sunday there is little you can do to alter your prospects.

If you can fund the course, definitely want to be a pilot i.e. prepared to put in the work, and aren't completely inept at technical reasoning, maths, team skills then I'd say you have a good chance and shouldn't worry.

Even if you only marginally meet these criteria I wouldn't worry as it was nerves and purely nerves that caused my 2nd failure!
