Ryanair Reject
I recently got rejected to proceed to the assessment stage after submitting my CV through the CAE so am just seeking a bit of advice. Has anybody experienced this rejection and then gone on to re-apply with success? I understand that you cannot apply to ryanair for another year after failing at the assessment stage but where do you stand having failed to even get the initial assessment? I am considering re-applying under a different email address and tweaking my CV a bit. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Please! Age 30....not getting initial interview.....

2. Why would they deny you an initial interview if it is easy money for them to make by charging you for the glorious opportunity to interview? Go through your application again and make certain you didn't mess up with the portions that ask about your willingness to pay for standard company items. This is the most important part of the initial application. The hours and experience part is irrelevant. Why? Because they can make money by inviting you for the interview party and then say well you don't quite have competitive qualifications. They get your money and gave you a shot at the interview in theory.

I recently heard that ryan air has an age limit of 30.

fleon's story matches my experience - I reapplied via OAA 13 months after my initial application and received a phone call inviting me to assessment. However, the next question was 'Have you ever applied to FR before' to which I replied I had. At that point the lady on the phone very apologetically said that the Ryanair policy is no reapplications.
CAE have also failed to progress my application on learning I have been rejected once before, despite it being over 2 years prior.

I think pilots wo are not hired like me , can stay with their dream because I don't see where you can apply.Been everywhere since 2004, never got a job (on JAA)and one of my friend, 10 years looking, got a job for 4 months and on his FAA license.All companies I have been (all FAA) have been out of business.
I am 40, and many guys I know have no job.what left ?easyjet?wizzair?airlingus...3 airlines for Europe! how many of us are still looking?I give up!

it really does amuse me that people think it is their right to have a shot at Ryanair, and that if you have the money you get the job!
absolute rubbish, at no time during my selection was I asked how I was to pay for the course or if I had the money to do so. Also, when you eventually get into the training regime of Ryanair, you will see that the standards set are very high indeed, just because you have paid doesn't mean that you will pass, the sim sessions, ground school and testing are all of a very high standard, people do fail and need to retake, have more simulator sessions,etc. This is not to generate more money for FR, it is in the cadets best interest. Once on line, the training remains excellent, recurrent sim sessions, line checks, etc are all professional and of a very high standard, so please stop spouting this BS about you have the money you get the job!
Oh, and by the way I was over 30 when accepted, people over 30 are still passing, I see them on the line and jump seating, etc, so please lets put this lie to bed as well. Possibly a good time to get back on thread...... as to reapplying, all you can do is ask, don't ask - don't get, good luck either way

this market has changed, what you say last year, is not valid today anymore.
they have so many applicants, they can ask what they want.
Age, money, sim, line check, opc check, check , and recheck...this job is too stressfull to a point it use you.
When I was working for an airline 10 years ago, I was flying much better than now, because there was no competition between pilots and no arrogance from managment. Now the airlines put a sim check anytime to fail you, not make you a better pilot.
You fail a sim, you are out, and good luck to find a new job!
Even a training sim is now a fail or pass (just look at their progess test, instructor have to check a F/P box, which I hate).
I don't see how pilot are safer nowadays. Just lucky maybe!
I think the entire system should be revised.
Some sim "instructors" put 10 failures in same time until you crash the sim(hydraulic, gear failure, fire smoke, 2 engine out, and 0 vis, ILS, VOR out,...). This is not a proper way of teaching as it's not real.
I am a FAA instructor as well, and 99% of my students are happy with me because I don't put any unecessary pressure on them. Just teach what must be taught.

Just to make it clear, I attended the assessment in July, starting my TR in September. Im turning 31 years old in October. Know about a guy who is doing his LT as we speak, at the age of 36, so I highly doubt that they have a 30 years old age limit.

First advice, if you want to find a job, don't bother with PPRUNE, as here you will not find much useful advice, as there are no jobs here!
First RYR only accept first time applications.
No official age limit, but there is an unofficial limit, I have loads of friends who are employed by RYR, and they can all confirm this!
If you want a job, there are jobs, I know of many who have got jobs the last 12 months, you need to be lucky, some have to pay for TR's, connections is what is required, and NOBODY on these forums will tell you the whole truth!

I know 2 guys who applied more than 3 years ago and updated the applications and never had an invitation.
Both over 30 but below 33.
Maybe is a case of luck maybe its age.
Someone suggested its their CV but the CV is requested after they select your application so that's not the reason.

HI guys, sorry justagigolo77 you just said that there are better jobs in aviation, I'm a low hours pilot and I'd like known which ones are. I finished my training 4 months ago and applied for loads of airlines including Ryan but still without news. If you know something or if you have some advice, please tell me because I start thinking that it's really difficult find the first job.

I know a lot of guys that after 10 years no job have given up trying, I and many others have said this for several years so im still surprised when people come out with comments that they have only just finished there CPL and haven't found a job within the first couple of months
