Qualifications for sponsorship, what are they looking for?
Hi guys and gals! I'm pretty new here, well as of 5 minutes ago. I am currently in a bit of confusion regarding selling yourself for sponsorship...
I probs like everyone here would love the chance of getting a sponsorship, however all it seems like people are looking for is an A level or a degree in either Maths or Physics, :/ I've tried this and it didn't work out for me at all ahah! After this I decided to make something of myself, it sucks to be unemployed, having no money and everyone looking at you like you're a nobody. It especially hurts when you're 16 and there seems to be no options for you.
Aside from the sob story, I got myself 2 A levels and pretty good job! I found myself a rocket and now I feel like maybe I have a chance of being looked at. However I have 2 A levels in I.T and also other qualifications by Microsoft etc... that are equal to the 1st year of a university degree.
Would a possible sponsorship programme look at me as a person who would be competent enough to complete a training programme? I am pretty technical minded and my achievements to date show that, im only 17 and have been starting to consider my options. Do I stick to what im doing, or chase the dream?
I've seen that Emirates, Qatar and Flybe have open sponsorships.
Im the eternal optimist even in the current economic climate, any advice on helping me achieve my personal dream goal would be greatly appreciated.

Emirates and qatar doesnt sponser for anyone, you have to be a citizen of their countries. Only airlines that sponser for any nationals are Etihad and Cathay, Other than these its virtually none. On the other end you can find many countries that have their own sponsorship programmes that are open to only citizens of their country for example Kenya Airways, they sponsor their cadets from ppl to 737 rating. Few years ago I was also sponsored by the educational board of my country along with my airline, and all I had was 3 A levels with BCC grades, no maths and no physics. So as you can see getting sponsored is extremely difficult if you are looking for worldwide opportunities or if you are lucky to be in a country that gives educational sponsors then its a different case. But do try for cathay cadet, I heard they still calling for selections.

So sorry to be negative Braderz...
..but I think that you'll have to chop Emirates from your wish-list. They require a much higher standard of written English than you have managed to demonstrate in your post. Good Luck all the same.. TP
