Mike, I'm sure there are some detailed posts already up here if you search it, particularly if you go back to say 2007 when they had a lot of schemes, pretty much all of which had their own pprune thread with much detailed discussion.

When I went in 2007 the first invitational stage was just with FTE, despite being located at the airline's offices. IIRC...

1 HR interview - walking through your CV, talking about you, your experiences & the examples of teamwork etc that you'd put in your application answers.

2 Maths test paper - nothing especially challenging, though you need to be able to do calculations / arithmetic, Speed/dist/time calcs etc confidently and without wasting time

3 Aptitude test - usual stuff, hand-eye co-ordination, multi-tasking, slalom type things

Good luck.

Thank you BusinessMan, that's very helpful. I was quite confused about the focus of the interview; whether it would be conducted by FTE or CityJet themselves. From your experience and the lack of any team or leadership exercises it would seem that this interview is largely aimed to fulfill this role, so at least I know how to prioritize my interview preparation. Thanks again mate

Does anyone know how the FTE Pilapt tests compare to CTC's?

Has anyone done both recently?

There are conflicting accounts on pprune from across the years.

My main queiries are:
1. Direction of up and down in joystick test - are they inverted, as per flying (and the CTC test)?
2. Nature / number of Pilapt tests - is the number countdown, shape / colour recognition and joystick co-ordination task included?
3. Use of calculator - most posts here suggest a calculator should be taken.
4. Are there any unusal formulae, not on the GCSE sylabus that are required, e.g. specific gravity etc? Can you think of any?
5. Actually, is this guide still relevant? http://www.pprune.org/interviews-job...sment-day.html

thanks.

Mike, no problem - it was 4 years ago though and for a different airline so it may or may not be accurate now, as Shorty says.

Shorty - most places provide everything you'll need but if you do take a calculator you can't go wrong..? Don't remember the controls being reversed?! I was similar age when I did the tests (ie half a lifetime away from GCSEs!) and don't remember there being anything beyond GCSE in the maths. Seem to remember the main challenge there is acheiving accuracy in the time. Of course, this was 4 years ago...

Anyway, enjoy

Nope, just an interested observer hoping to kick a bit of life into this thread. From experience, you'll most likely be looking at hearing from them 2 weeks after the last interviews have taken place. Best of luck!

I spoke to FTE and apparently they sent off the 'selection data' to WX on Thursday so we should expect to hear something early this week.

No news here either - flights to DUB are starting to look very pricey for next week! If you need finance for this scheme it is going to be a challenge to turn that around before October 17th...

It would be a nice gesture, but lets face it, no one is going to decline the interview on the grounds of an airfare so I can't really see them offering.

Fingers crossed we'll find out tomorrow (I've thought this everyday for a week now haha!)

Check your inbox's guys and girls, the results are in! I've got my interview next Wednesday - really pleased about that, certainly a relief!

The best of luck to the rest of luck to the rest of you, particularly the top blokes I met on the 1st

I am also attending next week - very excited! For those coming from London I found Bmi flights from LHR for £98 - a steal this close to departure!

Hmmm first thing I did yesterday was empty my spam - I don't think there was anything of interest there... what a way to possibly not make the cut!

I'm guessing they aren't in such a rush to thell those who haven't made it.

Still can't believe I haven't got my rejection email - gutted! Surely by tomorrow, how long can it take. Also, you lucky lot who progressed- will you accept any possible offer from CityJet or will you then fancy yourself for the BA scheme given Cityjet whittled you down to the last 5 and BA are looking for 100 (albeit with many more applicants I imagine!). Tough call nonetheless???

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. My thinking is that they informed all successful applicants and were waiting to recieve confirmation back that they all could indeed attend the interview and progress further. Once they have the batch they need confirmed then i reckon the rest of us will be cut loose. Just my theory anyway!

Its a pain, it was a great opportunity but if its meant to be...
Meanwhile Il just go back to hoping for phase 3 and beyond with Aer Lingus
