FAA --> JAA ATPL WITHOUT exams

I know there is a way to convert from FAA to JAA ATPL without taking all the exams, IF one has enough total flight time in a big enough aircraft.

Does anyone have a clear, and accurate idea of how much total time is required, and what size aircraft (is a 737 big enough?)

Please let me know.
I'd be interested to know how hard it would be to get this done provided I had enough total time/PIC time.

Thanks.

http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/175/srg_lt...ection%20G.pdf

Read section G1.5 Note 2

Says 3000 hours on A/C over 30,000KGS, to include 1500 PIC

the only issue is that, according to those regs, to get a FULL JAA license, I still need to pass all 14 exams.....
This would work for UK registered A/C only unfortunately.

Thanks for the actual wording!

If you're wanting the FULL JAR ATPL, then the only credit you get is from having to do an approved ground school course. You can just pitch up and take the exams.

Just looking into it myself and sure enough there is no way around the 14 exams if you want a UK JAA ATPL that is valid throughout the members states soon of course to be an EASA ATPL.
Checkout Gulf Coast Training Solutions there web site give a good presentation on what you need.
