GTA madrid

Hi, guys...

I'm at this TRTO GTA in madrid doing my TR, and my feed back so far is: VERY POSITIVE. Professionals, very nice people, and the SIM is amazing. I recommend.

PS: GTA madrid there is nothing to do with GPTA in miami.

Thumbs down

if you are looking to do a t/r , why not go directly to CAE.
at least, you can say you have been trained by CAE and not by a funny XXX unknown company using old non standard SOP as I have seen before.

seriously guys, you should do a reality check up...type rating, 200h tt, no experience on turboprop or jet!

say bye bye to your 30'000 euro...
and what you want do, send CV to all operators?pay more for line training??

Flyhelico gives good advice - go to a recognised school!

He speaks from experience - because he bought his TR and 200 hours from an Orange airline and was very surprised when there was no golden job at the end his rainbow.

GTA madrid

one should think twice before going to Gta madrid for type rating.especially if you are an Indian.
it has been learnt from the Indian pilots doing their type rating at GTA madrid that they are highly stressed. They are given VPT remedials sometime costing 900 euros and checks. They are intentionally failed so that they are forced to take remedial vpt.It is very surprising that vpt is not for learning but for remedials and checks.Indian pilots take huge loans and after so much of pain go there and then they are demoralised. There they are mocked by saying that 'you Indian pilots come directly after CPL".Indian pilots do whatever the rules of our country demands. And very surprising that places like Gta thrive on the supply of Indian pilots wanting to do their type rating. CAE is a much professional institute to do the type rating. And they do not demoralize Indian pilots.GTA is trying to maintain high standards by failing people in VPT ?
I would never go to such places. And Indian pilots are slowly realising this.

Yea I also heard about GTA that now days they are looting students by failed them intentionally in FFS as well as in VPT which is for training pepose only, they will force students to do extra sessions and they charge 300 or 400 euro's for extra vpt session and 900 euro's for ffs session I also heard it's all depends on the mood of a instructor if his in a good mood he'll teach you nicely but if his in a bad mood he'll fail you and force you to do one more session which will cost you 900 euro's for ffs and 400 euro's for vpt and also they don't have good transport facility as well as the accommodation they give you is not good you won't find anything around I was planning to go there but now HV changed my mind bcoz I heard so many negative things about GTA ,so guys pls think twice before you plan to go to GTA .

Those who are complaining about this ATO, I just wonder whether they were sufficiently well prepared to commence the course?

A lot will depend on the MCC/JOC course taken prior to the type rating.

To remove the "stress" the average student will need probably not less than MCC/JOC 9 exercises ~ that is 36 hours split equally between PF & PM, and reach a satisfactory standard.

You simply cannot expect some form of magic wand to transform you from a light aircraft pilot flying a 2T machine to a multi pilot ac weighing in at say 70+T......

You really need to be fully prepared both by way of basic flying skills, and mentally sharp to absorb and cope with this quantum leap.

And for the avoidance of doubt, I am not connected in anyway to this ATO.

I did my A320 type rating with them and I can't disagree more! I didn't had to repeat anything and the instructors were great! They also give you nearly 2 weeks of ground school, that is pretty good! The vpt is great coz you really prepare for the ffs and you maximise the time. But I guess if you don't have a good base the type rating could be difficult, a type rating centre is not there to teach you straight and level or how to intercept a radial.

I just got my TR from GTA, and I dont regret at all. Instructors are great, and experienced. We were 10 in our batch, and none of us needed any extra session. Like in every other TRTO, all you have to do is study after class and prepare the next one. I think that many students come to party, and what you have to know is that a TR is a very tough and constant course. I love the decission made, and I will always be thankful to GTA.

i have heard good and both bad things about GTA and BAA... well mostly depends on the amount of time you r giving to your studies.... ppl whn reach such TRTO's go for partying and travelling .... which is gud stress buster... but then you should prepare mentally and study as well..
am not even denying the fact that a lot depends on the mood of the examiner or the instructor... many TRTO's follow such practices.. many have done thr training from both these places and r satisfied as far as i know....

hope people give more input so that ppl like me can decided whichTRTO to choos
