for some reason i feel competition is tougher this year as lots of people are taking this assessment second time around.
Results for London will be out sooner or later but im afraid wait could be even longer for London boys n girls coz Frankfurt results will make the final call.
It will be very interesting to see what sort of batch London and Frankfurt would make.

Hello all, i've just been looking at Etihad's website and i no longer see a cadet section. Has the application period passed? I went to the Sydney assessment last year and was told we should reapply till 6 months later, and that assessments in Sydney would be around June this year. Just getting paranoid i missed the opportunity this year... Anyone know anything about the Sydney assessment this year or when to apply?

Thanks for the reply, i found the news that said they aren't taking any more applicants. Rather unfortunate for those who took their advice to wait 6 months before sending in the email...

Hi all,
Does anyone know if the 5 days in Abu Dhabi (if successful) will include a medical. I was just doing the math and it would seem a bit tight to do the interviews from 13- 17 April and then have a 2 week wait for the results. Then be invited back sometime in May in order to have the medicals done...then back to Europe for a few weeks and then back AGAIN to go to Al Ain. Was just wondering because last year it was only 3 days in Abu Dhabi with no medical although I do remember a medical being mentioned at some point.
Any thoughts...?

Hi, I think a medical will be made for those who are successful on the last day...but I don't know if Etihad must have the doctor(s)/medical center informed about it...thats why they didn't make it in the same time last year (I think) + the competition would be really tough between Stage 2 guys & would take sometime to decide who they're gonna take.
I'm also wondering if I do have a Security Clearance/check & a current GCAA class one medicals...should I go through the whole process again???...
Our main concern now is to pass the Stage 1...hope we get to that point to start truely worrying about the coming stages

I think your medical will probably last a few years, won't it? I don't know about the security clearance though...

Candidates Successful at Stage 1 go to Stage 2 in Abu Dhabi - if it is like last year the process is then a bit "Apprentice" like in that you have to pass each day to stay on - PILAPT then Interviews/Group Exercises then Medical - last year the medical was separate but they were trying to organise it to do it all at once.
The best policy though will be to sit back and wait to see how phase 1 goes and then information for the later phases will be forthcoming.
Malirm your GCAA Class 1 should be valid for 1 year - Cadets are usually assessed for a Class 2 SP medical which is valid 2 years but it upgradable to a full class 1 - the medical is free so I would just go through it to save you having to get your current medical renewed soon. Thought there is the benefit that you already know you will pass that stage when you come to it!

I think Etihad pay for it all, so just spending money if you go exploring.
Even if they didn't, they are pretty good value for getting out to the UAE, they are currently doing fares from Heathrow to Abu Dhabi, for about £150.
