People do take them out there; every bedroom has a 14" TV, I think most people just use them.

Depends where you are. Clearways is ethernet, Knox Street is wireless - not sure about Peachgrove because it hadn't been installed when I left, but if it has been by now then it will almost certainly be wireless.

I have my phase 3 on the 14th November and was wondering if people could fill me in on what to expect and what revision people did to prepare??

Hoping there's some guys going to New Zealand that play footy as well, playing spot can get repetative after a while

Yeah bring your boots over... there are usualy a fair few of us that have a kick about.

The footy season starts in Feb and you will need boots/shin pads if you want to play in that. CTC had a footy team this year but most of the guys will have left by Feb.

Footy!?

Glad to hear theres some folk who still play the beautiful game over in Rugby land. Dont get me wrong,i love rugby...but footballs better(For the skinnier variety like myself) Just broke the news to my amateur team that this will be my last season for them so is this league the ctc compete in around hamilton or the whole north island?

Its the Waikato Sunday League... all around Hamilton.

The football standard out here in NZ is not all that hot to be honest. We romped a 5-a-side comp at the start of the season without conceding a goal!

The league we should have won, first few games we averaged a 7 -0 win but lack of players for other games and sometimes miss management (getting the wrong KO times) meant we finished 3rd or 4th overall. Oh yeah and the fact that 90% of the time most the team had been out on a Sat night didnt really help either!

The Saturday league is better standard and if you can get enough players I'd enter that... its better playing a better standard IMHO.

Phase 3 21st November

Hi Folks,

I've already mentioned this once so apologies to anyone it doesn't concern. However, is anyone going to the phase 3 on the 21st November? If so, give me a shout, I'll probably by staying locally the night before if anyone fancies meeting up for a chat.

Cheers,
Alex.

Hi lads and ladies,
I'm just finishing my school year and will be 18 in June. I've read all these threads on the CTC cadet programme and was just wondering if you can apply before getting your A-Level results and maybe give the mock results or something and then forward on the A-Level results at a later date. I would really like to apply early summer, and not have to wait until the end of August!

Many thanks for your help,
EI350

I don't think so, In order to pass Phase 1 you must have the required A levels - they're pretty strict on these kind of things. Wouldn't worry though, I did the same last year, got my results and applied in September, and im due to fly out to NZ in May so it's a pretty fast turn around to be honest!

I stayed at the Travel Inn (West) in Christchurch, about a 10 minute drive from CTC training centre. Not sure about internet access but they phone you with the result sooner than they update on the website.
