Hour, ability, or experience do not matter anymore, it is the ability to pay that counts.

Sad but true.

Just got an email from BMI, rejected unfortunatly.

I have 1200 hours 120 twin mcc etc, what experience do the lucky ones have?

Best of luck to those that have interviews, looks like a great outfit to start out with.

Cheers

Commiserations, mate, at least you've had a rejection! I think I probably fall in to the "don't call us, we'll call you" category.

experience: flying myself around and about abroad in a 172, and jumper dumping from a Cessna Caravan.

Persistence with a CV helps........

Flight Deck Application Form.pdf

Hi,

If anyone has an up-to-date copy of the BMI Regional flight deck application form which is in pdf format, can you please PM me.

I was sent a copy but it was corrupt and wouldn't open. So far I've had no joy getting them to send me another.

Thanks

Sorry if too late for you.

I passed interview back in June and sim a few weeks ago will be starting course in a few weeks.

Interview is straight forward mostly about yourself and why you want to be a pilot for regional etc, some technical quetions as have been mentioned also RVSM, critical engine, coffin corner, a basic engine failure drill.

I am low houred Oxford student I know some others that passed that werent and had much more hrs than me so go figure?!

Know your swept wing theory, MCrit, that sort of thing. T tail jet issues.

Know the fleet, the names of all the management, how the company relates to mainline and Baby, etc.

Know your own aircraft and be able to describe its systems.

Have a practical answer up your sleeve for a scenario that you might be given. It may involve you taking the fall whilst protecting the company, but does not require blind adherence to the law. I'm not going to tell you the actual scenarios mentioned, but this is the thrust of the answer they're looking for.

Be prepared to answer questions honestly and acquit yourself like an adult.

Good Luck!

Angry BMI Regional Interview Results

Went to the Friday round of the Bmi Regional interviews...... I was asked to " consider my position over the weekend " and to phone the office with my decision. I then left Aberdeen together with a copy of the sim profile !!

I phoned this morning only to be told the bad news.......

Q. Did anyone else get the same treatment ?

I can only speak for a few of those who got through the interview (don't know about the Friday one) but all varied backgrounds and not a fresh faced Oxford grad in sight!

Don't believe everything you read on Proon! (Especially about not getting a job unless you went to Oxford! - Not doubting your info Craggenmore I just mean in General if you believed everying about Oxford you read on this site you would find that the entire industry trained there and nowhere else)

Smile Bmi Regional Job!!!!!!

Have just received confirmation from Bmi Regional that I am on a course starting 29th of this month. I am naturally very pleased and excited and can't wait to get started with the groundschool.
I would like to thank all concerned who have helped me over the last 3 years get through the whole training syllabus allowing me to achieve what I have today.
Good luck.

Good news, well done, have a beer you deserve it.

Out of interest tell us your hours, experience, etc.

Looks like things are moving now, long may it continue. Recently posted in the Instructors forum of a club needing instructors, no replies in the forum and only 2 messages, I hope this is an indication of less coming through the system or greater demand, maybe a combination of both.

I now have approx 300 hours, passed IR back in May 3 years on from starting the PPL!
I am in my 30's and did the ground school at ATA Coventry and Oxford. The CPL/IR was done at Leeds Flying School who I would recommend. After that I did an MCC and thats it!
