type ratings ?
I am seriously considering self funding a type rating inorder to improve my chances of getting my cv at least considered. I have 1500 hrs 100 multi and aged 42 I realise that people in the industry consider paying for a type rating an ultimate insult, but
feel that chances are fading. Any comments would be gratefuly recieved including which type/ organisation to go for.

Hi,
I would highly recommend doing one. But think at the moment Airbus may be the way to go. There are many links on Pprune about advantages/disadvantages and some pretty strong comments either way - do a search.
If you do one, look carefully at all options and be careful, there are plenty of people out there who are willing to take your money and not help you achieve your goal of getting a job.
Basically watch for sharks....
