Oxford and Bristol
EGAC
Your doing what i did last year: Oxford groundschool and BFC flight training.
Both places very good.
If you don't already know people at BFC. Then Nasib Otaqui and Rowan are great IR instructors.
When doing the CPL, the re is a part time instructor called stuart mcmanus. He is excellent, but as said part time.
Everyone friendly and helpful, so enjoy!

Holding Pool
I've noticed other posts saying that they are in the holding pool for Flybe but have heard nothing.
Does it look like weeks or months that we will have to wait for a sim check / job offer ?
I am holding on from getting a part time job as I don't want to have to give a start date a month after Flybe want me finally, but am seriously low on cash (actually I don't have any, but I owe lots !!)
Anybody on the inside know what's going on !
Cheers

Prickie,
Not on the inside, but I am in the sitauation of waiting to hear like yourself. It could be a very long wait, and obviously sim success is not a guarantee. Take what you can right now, and work around it when the time comes to move on. Pointless turning down much needed money when you have no idea at all how long you will have to struggle along without it. Also, even when you do finally start, it will be a long wait for that first pay day, and I'm sure there will be plenty of living expenses to meet in the meantime, so get the money in the bank while you can.
As for the holding pool, I don't think anybody has had any official notice from flybe actually stating as much, but it is effectively the situation you are in as I suspect you have been informed of a 'provisional' offer of employment, although this too may not actually have been officially notified from flybe.

FLYBE
Did anyone see that FLYBE item in flight training news. I have seen some bull in my time but that takes the biscuit. They were
claiming that they recruit pilots who will stay with the company -
what about the 40 who have just left ? - DD claims that they
always recruit the right people, so why have so many failed the
dash course ? . I know plenty of good guys with some experience
who would probably stay with the company and make good captains who have been overlooked. DD has lost the plot - too old

Seeking piece of advice
Hi everybody...
Is anyone of those who got a positive reply by Flybe willing to share their experience? First of all where and who to send your CV? E-mail or snail-mail? First impression still count, doesn't it?
Happy landings

Flybe rosters Q400
Can anyone tell me what the current rostering is on the Q400, eg... days on, off and standby plus the current bases being positioned to as a new F/O?
I understand that rostering is likely to be subject to change at the moment but a rough idea would be helpful.
Thanx

Exactly how many of the Cabair students who had an interview last month were hired? And how many people attended? I was supposed to be there, but only heard it a couple of days in advance, which wasn't enough for me to arrange the trip to the UK unfortunately...I did send an email to flyBE saying I should've been there, but all I got was the standard 'we'll keep you on file' letter...
Finishing on a late....starting on an early.

6 on 2 off, 6 on 2 off......................................................... ..........
Oh and yes, you finish on late and start on an early.
With the ongoing Chaos during Check in - check out they are going to have to make it a 90 min check in and a 60 min check out

Errm, well, yes...... I did say the plan was that, but probably not until the recent intake of FO's are up to speed, perhaps late summer time, or did I just see a pig land on my garden tree!!
