Flybe

I received a letter today from Flybe. They said that my CV will be put on file. Has anyone received a call to an interview after a letter of this kind, or is this a kind no-thanks?

Flybe

Yeah, i have a plethora of flybe letters all saying 'up yours, but thanks'.

happy days

Snigs 7th Feb 2005 14:00

I've had a few of these, I guess it means keep flying and send us another in 6 months!

Ex Oggie 7th Feb 2005 20:33

Standard FlyBe PFO letter, I have a ring binder full.

But at least they do reply, and do actually keep details on file, so I have been assured. So one day, you never know, we might just get that life changing telephone call out of the blue.

TDK mk2 8th Feb 2005 08:42

Even with over 2000 multi crew turbo prop hours I got one of these

moku 8th Feb 2005 09:13

I have several also. I have 3000TT and still get them.

If their workforce is made of people similar to those I know there, then maybe I'm better off not being there! :E

Has anyone ever had a nice thing to say about DD?

:ok:

Rizla2002 8th Feb 2005 12:53

I've received my first one today...
since i'm a low hours fATPL i think it will be the first but not the last....sob..:ugh:

WX Man 8th Feb 2005 16:44

Well, I got one too. No sobbing, too busy (A) doing an instructors rating; and (B) sending out other letters. Flybe's loss, not mine.

Chin up people... our time will come!

i handed DD a completed application form in person when he visited Oxford in September 01. completed IR november 01. many cvs and letters later i have now been with flybe a year. so keep on trying.

If you build it they will come

Dont worry!

Hi guys,

Dont be disheartened!!

I was lucky enough to be selected for the Q400 last month and we're now in toronto doing out type rating, currently doing the groundschool phase.

We have it right next door to the bombardier factory and there was a big screen up saying that flybe have just ordered another 20 Q400s so they obviously have expansion plans!

Just keep plugging those cvs

Happy hunting!

Tom

Well said, mate, well said!;)

Hudson Bay 9th Feb 2005 12:01

There have been more resignations today so get your CV's in. Interveiws being held all day tomorrow so hurry up, get on the phone or get yourself to Exeter and hand in your details.

Fellow Aviator 9th Feb 2005 12:40

Well done tomcs!

Do you know if they have lately recruited low-hour guys (<300h)?

Good luck to all! :ok:

Drew Peacock 9th Feb 2005 14:00

Does anyone know how many Q400 courses Flybe are running per month, and perhaps when there is likely to be available places?

jamestkirk 9th Feb 2005 14:04

FLYBE

Anyone have an idea of what they are looking for. From the responses on this thread there does not seem to be a generic employment philosophy.

That was my observation through the differing threads about flybe and not any of your feedback anyone.

I know there has been alot written about age (got to be 20'ish) but thats about as far as i can make out the message.

If anyone has any information about this it would be interesting.

What i am trying to say is; is it a CV lottery or do they actually look for laid down character attributes, as percieved through your CV.

I know there is someone on pprune under the name of 'flybe.com' and i assume he/she is an employee (I should have been a detective).

If you know, please let me know as i believe that a little insight may go a long way when sending the 'please give me a job or i will go into the porn film industry as an extra....again ' letter.

Thanks
JTK

Age!

Hi again,

In answer to the age theory, it doesn't seem to factor because there are 30+ ers here in toronto!

They take a wide range of experience...quite a few low hours (<300) guys aswell!

Good Luck

Tom

Blimey, I have sent loads of CV's over time and never even had a PFO letter! I must be doing something wrong!!

Even had a CV handed in by recommendation a few weeks ago, followed it up with a phone call.....and still nothing.

What do I have to do???

What is the problem with flybe.
I have 1100hrs TT, 700 multi crew jet and I can't get a peep out of them. I also had an inside recomendation yet nothing has come of it.

I know flybe are going down to oxford/cabair etc but what about the guys that have gone through the S%*T and got some very valid experience.

I would love to fly for flybe, it is a company that I really think would suit me. I would take the job tommorrow. I know in other forums there is alot of bad ora's about flybe but trust me from where I come from flybe is heaven.

There are many experienced people with valid hrs under their belt that are not getting a look in. Instead flybe are not spending time looking at CV's but just taking the easy option and going down to oxford/cabair and creaming the candidates. However are these less experienced people without jet time or commercial line experience going to be so cost effective to train and bring up to speed online etc?

Shout me down if I am wrong but I would consider flybe a desired working environment not just a stepping stone.

Tea White None 11th Feb 2005 22:59

The problem with Flybe is that they have completely messed up the numbers for recruiting. Apparently they got an idea that a shed load of crews were off to other airlines and therefore started recruiting accordingly to fill these potential gaps. In the cold light of day, most of these alleged vacancies have not not come about and there are quite a few from Oxford and Crapair that were initially selected for employment and now in some kind of holding pool.

On top of that they also managed to hack offwhat crews remaned by offering 146 slots to new joiners ahead of those already employed. Sounds to me that there are a few issues within so tred carefully whenever Flybe are mentioned!

Fellow Aviator

Which part of Flybe did you apply for?

I'm still hoping for a response for the BHD recruit

Jude
