Great to hear of people being hired, but I must spread the word.

I work in said company and have often tried and succeeded in getting people interviews with flybe. Unfortunately I have been told on good authority that they do not like recommendations anymore, as they are "spoilt for choice".

This is against what I understand DD has been saying at several conferences. This is a great shame and I have made management aware that one hand is not aware of what the other is doing regarding this issue. So the best bet is go it alone people and make your application stand out.

Hope this helps as I don't want people getting a false understanding.

Now or never!

It seems to me that flybe. are going all out this year to establish themselves as one of the top company's in the low fares sector.
They've got full page adverts nearly every day in the Daily Mail and have started advertising on T.V for flights out of Birmingham.
My point is that if they are going to hire it has to be between now and March.
Assuming they need 2-3 months with the T.R. and Line training and also assuming that the expansion plans are still on track its got to start happening soon. (I hope).

With flybe crewing planning I suspect they will realise the need for pilots after it has happened, say this winter.

Hows it going?

Imp: firstly I hope the swimmings going o.k i'm sure your drowning in books right now but I could do with a bit of advice.

If either yourself or Whispering Giant would be so good as to offer me some info on the second assesment at Woodford on the 146 sim I would be very appretiative.

Best of luck

Does anyone know when the next sim check at Woodford is?

jarjam - when are you going to woodford? If you have done the check how was it?

Well I had the sim ride on Friday, I think it went ok, the guy I was paired with was pretty sharp so hopefully we've both got through. Loooks like Flybe are having a major push with the recruiting, and it looks like they have been interviewing and siming guys for at least the last week or so.
Anybody heard anything back from the company yet with regards to possible start dates???
I've been waiting patiently for the last ten months or so but I have to say the last week has been the most difficult.

Anyone had a result from the interviews last week for FO? Normally they are quite quick but nothing so far. Also if successful any idea when the sim check will be.

I have heard nothing either. I phoned up Don and he said that letters were being sent out this week sometime and to call if i hadnt heard anything by friday. Letters dont sound good when expecting a call for a sim check so we'll just have to wait and see. I am tearing my hair out!

Good luck

From what I know if you did not get a call by now then expect a nice letter in the post soon. From what I heard not many people did well enough during the FO interviews that week to be called back for a sim eval.

It all sounds a bit depressing. Are you saying that out of about eight or more people interviewed they couldn't find one or two good enough for sim check. I am surprised that out of all the many applications they must have that they managed to choose so many they didn't like in the end.

I have heard that the interviews were not very inspiring and those attending didn't leave feeling that they had managed to build a rapport with those doing the interviewing.

Was your source of information someone within the company or just general rumour?

All as I know is that after some 'problems' with people recruited last year the management have decided to be more stingent with regard to recruitment.

This is the reason that the sim checks are now done at woodford and even people in the existing holding pool that passed the old sim assesment are being required to redo the sim at woodford.

I know of a couple of people who were in the holding pool having successfully completed the first sim session who have been dropped as they were deemed to not meet requirements at the second session.

I guess that the management have finally clicked that with the amount of pilots out there they can afford to pick and choose.

The good news is that FlyBe have a requirement for pilots and courses are scheduled in March, if you haven't heard yet don't give up, you never know. People that I know found out good news with Flybe through a mixture of phone calls and letters, so no call is not necesarily a bad thing.

Hang in there

AH

I reiterate Moku's comments and will keep everything crossed, and thanks for keeping alive our hopes and lifting the doom cloud.

Good that things are going well for you at Flybe, maybe see you soon.

hifive11,

My information sourse was from inside the company. With regard to your comment on not being able to find people they want to sent to the sim, well that is the information that given to me.

I will add however that I too heard comments from applicants about the apparent lack of interest in getting to know applicants. Lets hope that this will change in the future.

Reading your latest post I take it you were one of those people who was interviewed on one of those two days.

Best of luck to you all.
