Jobs in Ryanair

Has anyone got a job recently with a 200hr ATPL in Ryanair?
Is their recruitment requirements saturated yet?

Thumbs down

I know it's easy for me to say, but don't lower yourself to giving these con men your hard earned £50. In feb this year I did, expecting at least an interview ( 3500 hrs) , OK, no 737 type rating, but their own info does say that it is not necessary if you enter into their training scheme whereby you pay upfront for the rating. Here we are well down the line and not even a phone call.
This is a con. Do not give them your money. Apply to decent airlines, you've just as much chance there as anywhere.

I see i've come across a few Ryanair bashers!!

I will not have a problem giving them £50 to read my cv. It's a drop in the ocean when considering what we pay for our licences.
Also £18K for a type rating when you think about it is a lot to pay up front. HOWEVER the company that gives you a job with nothing to pay up front will pay you a lot less for the same amount of work. In others words it balances out.
Ryanair has a very structured roster: 5 on, 3 off alternating earlys and lates and pays very good money. Considerably more than Easyjet.

Here's hoping.

it will probably sound stupid but how do you actually 'go for it', I've sent my CV both to Ryanair and to easyjet and I have go no response. I have fATPL 550 hours and a UK passport, what should my next step be???
thanks

EZY are only recruiting pilots with "line experience"(from the horse's mouth!!!) and do not accept CVs sent through the post due to the "paperless office policy",but only applications through their website.

To apply to Ryanair you have to contact one of the approved FTOs that you can find on their website, again if you sent your CV to Ryanair directly it will probably be ignored.

I know a guy who is doing the Type rating at gecat ,for Ryanair , and he has just over 200HRS ,so it's possible.

Clearfortheoption, is he doing the type rating at Gecat because Ryanair have already told him he has a job or is he doing the rating because he HOPES that Ryanair will give him a job?

He had to go through the selections (interview and sim) with Ryanair ,Sim ride at gecat, he will start line training with Ryanair after the type rating .

Every student who passed the type rating and line training will be given a Ryanair contract, that's as much as I know, also Ryanair said that every selfsponsored student(who passed interview,Sim ,type rating and line training) so far has been given a contract.

I do not know what would happen if you don't pass one of these steps.

I am also trying to get Ryanair so I am trying to get as much info as possible.

You say that these low-time newhires get a "contract."

How long is the contract for? Can you give us more details about the contract? Are you not hired as a permanent employee?

Not sure I've seen a better advertisment for Ryanair's recruitment than that CPIO - almost verbatim from the company hymn sheet.

Ryanair are never going to get an easy ride on these forums thanks to their controversial policy on recruitment which is contributing to the idea of a self-sponsored type rating becoming acceptable (to those with a lot of money post CPL anyway).

Easyjet allegedy also recruit low-hour pilots through their own version of the self-sponsored type rating scheme, one that is at the very least on a slightly more level playing field even if the initial salary is lower.

As for any contract between Ryanair and a self-sponsored trainee you can bet your Mr O'Leary's last dollar that it does not - written in big bold print - guarantee a job at any point.

Caveat Emptor

It is not that easy to get an assessment for the self sponsored scheme with Ryanair! It is heavily over subscribed and the majority of people that get the assessments have contacts in Ryanair.

Yes and they don`t! Even if you had 20,000 hours they wouldn`t even sponsor you for a type rating!
