DHL 767's

Does anyone know if the 767's are going to DHL US or DHL UK?

Kind Regards...

Apparantly the decision is going to be made in march:rolleyes:

In same announcement as Aerologic stuff, DHL senior management said 767 announcement would be "Second Quarter"....Make of that what you will. However conjecture over who will operate these varies wildly and changes from week to week...

Until they're sitting there on the ramp and I'm in it pushing buttons, I am not going to hold my breath.

767's

I think they will go to EAT.

Or ACL.....

That would be good.Lots of happy people and job done with little or no B***!!!!!.

Piper19 8th March 2008 11:10

I don't think they're getting to EAT. We just received another "new" A300B4 for its test flight yesterday (oo-dih), and in april we receive another one. So I guess EAT will be the A300 operator, not 767 or 777.

hvydriver 2nd April 2008 21:14

FWIW, I'm very sure they are coming to Europe. Just don't know if it's EAT or DHL UK.

CaravanDriver 3rd April 2008 14:26

According the information they gave us earlier this year they will be operated by DHL US. They are supposed to operate between the European hubs and the main hub in the Usa. Don't think we will operate them at EAT. As mentioned before more A300 are coming.

hvydriver 3rd April 2008 15:52

It is all very confusing CD. The word we're hearing over here is that they're going to be operated by DHL Aviation. Guess as usual, we'll all just have to wait and see what happens.:)

robiemartin 5th April 2008 14:56

Knowing DHL they'll probably start-up ANOTHER carrier.

CaravanDriver 6th April 2008 08:55

That is correct:ugh:. Just lets wait and see...

It's difficult to make out the registration from the picture but alongside it is the american flag!

altayaara 12th April 2008 15:44

As the Belgian pilot said, A300's are much more popular in Europe, so chances are much bigger the 767 will be operated in the US.

Very few carriers in Europe use B767 cargo, meanwhile here in South America the 767 is very common but hardly A300's in use.

Distances are shorter in Europe and payload of the 767 is higher and more common to cross the Atlantic ocean.

But slowly also in Brasil the interest of the A300 is starting ( B4) for inland transport to replace the B707 and DC 8's, as also our Civil Aviation is getting stricter every year. The 300-600 is too expensive for inland use and payload to low to cross the Atlantic.

hvydriver 12th April 2008 16:53

I believe that's an ABX Air B767-200 Sapco.

sapco2 12th April 2008 17:09

Thanks hvydriver, I thought the post might elicit a few knowledgeable replies. It looks shiny enough to be fresh off the production line - is it?

hvydriver 12th April 2008 17:27

No, just a fresh coat of paint. Neither ABX nor Astar ever get new a/c. Notice that it does not have a main cargo door. Many of the ABX B767's are configured in that manner to use their C container system. Plus, they put the ship numbers over the windscreen, like you folks do in Europe.

robiemartin 14th April 2008 01:36

hvydriver is correct, registration is N775AX, ABX 767-281PC (no cargo door). Originally an ANA airplane, I believe.

boingdrvr 18th April 2008 02:12

You can also make out the "Operated by ABXAir" logo box above the three red stripes foward of the main cabin entry door.

CaravanDriver 15th May 2008 15:13

Well wonders happen. We just got the internal news that EAT is going to operate 1 B767-300 out of Bru as from next year on.
DHL Air UK will operate 2 out of Ema. Aircraft's will operate under DHL Air UK AOC.
The other 3 B767's ar not allocated yet.
