I heard it was confirmed 3 B767s for DHL Aviation Europe under DHL air's AOC from BRU and EMA. It will be decided who will get the other 3 aircraft early next year.

Will EAT flightcrew be allowed to operate the G- registered aircraft?

Congrats! You found a great pic of a 767-200 series (N775AX) - which is registered to ABX Air - a US company. :)

Somewhat behind the discussion Aviatrix. We've moved on to the much speculated upon announcement of who will drive the new-build 763s on order. See the posts above to see the answer - and they're not going to the 'N' register!

"Well wonders happen. We just got the internal news that EAT is going to operate 1 B767-300 out of Bru as from next year on.
DHL Air UK will operate 2 out of Ema. Aircraft's will operate under DHL Air UK AOC.
The other 3 B767's ar not allocated yet
."

Has this been announced publicly or as you say just "internally". If just internal, do you mean there has been a company released memo to the masses or are you referring to a "word of mouth" situation.

The reason I ask is that we on the west side of the Pond have heard that three of the 767ER's are alloted to the DHL/DLH venture (word of mouth from Company Exec.) and that the destination for the other three was to be announced later this month.

The allocation of the first 3 aircraft has been decided, and they will be operated under the DHL Air UK AOC, with EAT doing the maintenance. The fate of the last 3 to be decided late this year or beginning of 2009.

They're in no great hurry, as the last 3 will only come on-line in 2010.

I would be very surprised if they went any other place than Air UK or EAT, but then again this is DHL and they'll be sending the tender out again to the usual suspects (DHL Air/EAT/Polar/ASTAR) and the lowest bidder will get them.

As for the rumours of the 767s being operated by the DHL/LCAG JW (AeroLogic) that's always been a heering. They'll be operating the 777s, and the 777s only.

To Boingdrvr: It was an internal memo/mail.

"Do I get a gold star for getting it right on 2 Apr.?"

No! You got to carouse and cavort and otherwise drink ungodly amounts of alcohol at Bike Week. No star for you!! ;)

Awww... Be that way then.

Latest news is that they want one 767 to be crewed by EAT and the other two aircraft by DHL air.
So one crew base in BRU and one in EMA.
Eventually they will replace the MD11s flying for DHL I guess.
Still at the planning stage I believe at the moment so more info later...
