Hi guys,

I've been invited during the 3rd week of January. Any info on the recruitment process please?

And any recent internal feedback will be greatly appreciated ! :)

Thank you very much! ;)

morane34 3rd Jan 2016 12:28

May I ask when and where did you apply?
Merci

Iflyme 4th Jan 2016 12:46

Okay, I have my GACA and FAA licenses. Do I need a JAA to work for Air Atlanta out of their Jeddah base?

space-shuttle-driver 5th Jan 2016 16:24

I applied with AAI in NOV 2015, got an (automated) acknowledgement from Debbie Merchant.
Still heard nothing after that. I assume AAI finds enough candidates through mouth-to-ear...
Anybody with some intel to chime-in here?

Dutchformula 5th Jan 2016 19:36

@ Space shuttle driver

I applied 2 ways,
Direct with AAI on their website and thru agency (Confair)

I got the email from Debbie Merchant saying i wasnt needed, 2 days later i got a phone call from the agency with an invitation to the assessment.

So I would write the agency an email because they are still recruiting and still need to fill classes.

Good luck :ok:

Mrprop 9th Jan 2016 07:24

Hi guys!

I got an email from AAI saying that I am on hold.

Is there anybody in this situation? What does that exactly mean?
I got this email 1st december, and still no news.

My profile 1300tt: 1100 in turboprop.

Regards and happy landings!

fm1 12th Jan 2016 23:12

PropDude 14th Jan 2016 08:25

Same here Mrprop... i really should forward my application with Confair and not to Mountain High. A valuable lesson for the future...

747 type rating class in April. Bond in one year from the salary. Good pay. Worldwide contract, maybe 3/2 or 4/2 (higher salary). It does not seem too bad to start an airline career. Ok, Jeddah is not a beautiful place...

arkangel2 19th Feb 2016 09:14

Hi Tekor,
How much money do you expect to take home with a 4/2 and a 3/2 roster ?
Are you paid during the 2 weeks off ?
Thanks

Greetings

Psycotest is written
Interview is divided in technical part and HR
Questions. Technicals written

While you complete those tests they can call you to talk with the recruiting agency and explain the contract or to do the interview and then you go back to finish your test.

Sim is very straightforward, no tricks.

Seems to be a very friendly environment.

not to be paid during days off, suck
330 is leaving, contract pilots may be offered 747 bonded

muntisk 14th Mar 2016 22:18

Any news according screening in March? I received email that screening dates has been changed from 21-25 march to....?

Andres74 15th Mar 2016 17:39

They will soon start hiring again for 330 now that the merger with Onur has the green light. New bases in Gassim and Medina being considered.

newscaster 9th Apr 2016 20:35

They will be flying four 748F for Saudia.

Learjet-60-XR 20th Apr 2016 04:25

Their only base for Pilots is still Jeddah, right?

blackwasp 29th Apr 2016 14:14

negativeclimb 5th May 2016 21:51

Cruise relief first officer? means to keep the heading bug on top during cruise? Is that a joke or what?

dum dum pacheco 18th May 2016 20:04

One question. Any chance for a 15/15 roster?
Thanks

Juhamke 8th Jun 2016 13:03

Not a chance.

jokeair 9th Jun 2016 20:45

They are offering 3 weeks on 2 weeks off. :-)

Juhamke 10th Jun 2016 13:20

Still the off-time is without any pay.

space-shuttle-driver 23rd Sep 2016 08:45

Went through this entire post, and could not find any info on the pay for an FO. Can somebody in-the-know enlighten us? Cheers!

Juhamke 28th Sep 2016 09:18

Daily Rate for an f/o is min. 240 USD, max 310 USD. Additionally comes the 50 USD per diem for your 'away from home' days. The daily rate is based on your previous flight/work experience, jet hours, total time etc.

Luibar 9th Oct 2016 13:34

If they offer 15 on 15 off roster it would be one of the best contracts for commuting.

Icelanta 9th Oct 2016 17:59

All new Contractor pilots start on a " Worldwide" contract.
That means that the contractor tells AAI when he/she is available for duty. The company then will see if they need you or not.
You are paid per day on duty. When not needed, you are not paid.
Before even applying, one has to be very aware of this and accept a certain uncertainty regarding salary and unpaid leave periods.

The quoted daily fees are also a bit on the high side by the way. Expect to start on the low end of the quoted values, even for experienced pilots.

But the initial and recurrent training is very good, probably the best on B747-400 as operating environment can be very challenging.

Oh, and 15/15...never gonna happen pal!

Luibar 9th Oct 2016 23:18

Thanks Icelanta.
In fact it seems to be a little unstable this "worldwide" contract. If I understand correctly, the pilot will get no pay if there's no flights on the period of his/her availability?

Juhamke 19th Oct 2016 14:47

"Stand by for stand by" seems to be the name of the game for contractor guys nowadays, from what I've seen. Rosters seem to change quite rapidly, even hourly sometimes.

Dufo 1st Nov 2016 12:01

Any good experiences with Airborne personnel in conjunction with AAI? So far I have read mostly negative comments on pprune..

Juhamke 22nd Nov 2016 05:20

AAI are recruiting for Jeddah, again and this time around they are requiring Icelandic licenses.

Wonder what's up with that and how much this will affect contractors already flying over there with their non-Icelandic licenses.

Whiskery 18th Dec 2016 19:07

.......this time around they are requiring Icelandic licenses.

Only stated to placate the locals. In reality, it will be based on supply vs demand.

2Bad2Sad 19th Dec 2016 03:50

Remember for us old farts 747/L1011 how easy this was late 1990"
AAI had 4 L-1011 and 2 747 classics.
We operated worldwide, had a good time made a decent salary, company looked after us all, even in Jeddah.
Seems now all changed , doubt any one left there from that era.
But we all look back as this was the best job we ever had, hope it is some what close to that now.
Lagos Nigeria worst, but we had a great time there despite the environment.
