The facts of Cargo Flying?!

Hi guys!

How are the working schedules in Europe's cargo airlines? Is it possible to commute within Europe, or do you, in general, have to live at you base?
What about ID tickets? Do you get any?
How's the pay, compared to the PAX-hauling companies?

Probably a worn-out subject, but the PPRuNE server is always too busy to allow a proper search.

Thanks!

Hi,

to be honest it is a bit worn out; however........

1. Obviously depends who you work for...
e.g. DHL Air is extremely civilised, so far, anyway;
EAT appears to be a living hell, at least from what l've heard around the routes.

2. Yes

3. No idea

4. Comparable l suppose

This recent one
http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthr...threadid=80169 was indeed one of many previous ones.
facts stay the same.
Enquire before you sign and do not expect too much.
I did enquire but did not have much of a choice.

Try Cathay freighters, Air Hong Kong, Dragon Air. All in Hong Kong and very civilised.
