Meh

What they don’t tell you is that the engines are crap and plastic freighters fall to bits after 18 months of routine wear and tear. Let’s see how they go after a Shanghai high lifter pokes a hole thru the fuse. 4700 miles range? Not nearly enough. Looks pretty though.

That may be true QOTS but they have fooled Atlas, as they have just ordered 40 of the type.

No doubt the French have sold their grandmothers to get this switchover, not to mention the huge subsidies the EU throw in to sweeten the deal.
Let's see what The Don' has to say about it once he hears, as he's commented before about the huge EU subsidies given to Airbus which don't make it a level playing field.
What's the price of doing business now?

Happy Landings

4,700-mile range is just fine for a freighter. The worldwide air cargo system is based on 3,000-4,000 mile flight legs. With rare exception, air freight would rather carry more stuff than more fuel.
That's why Anchorage is one of the busiest air-freight airports in the world - unlike passenger flights which fly non-stop between North American and Asia, cargo carriers stop to refuel in Anchorage so they can carry more freight.
