Expat, it depends on what your ultimate goals are. If you enjoy flying DC-6s into 3000' dirt strips with 7% gradients, then Everts is definitely the place to be. If you are trying to build time to get a jet job, or plan to upgrade to the jet eventually, forget it. Piston experience is useless to the airlines, so not even Everts' senior captains, with 10K hours PIC, can get an airline job; therefore movement is practically nil. It's been a while since I worked there; are they hiring directly into the jet now? If not, then you're probably better off at the commuter airlines.

I never worked at Everts, but I did spend a fair amount of time flying for other operators in AK.
Bottom line is if you enjoy old equipment and cowboy flying (which I do) you'll love Alaska to bits. All companies in AK suffer from weak management and poor "procedural correctness". Schedules at my airlines were 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. Not sure if Everts does this, but it was a great perk. You could easily make 70 grand flying a 207 for 6 months a year... More if you work for an outfitter. For instance Renfros was paying something like 8 grand a month or more for a Beech 18.
