Short term contract, or a salaried position?
And yes, there is a difference.

Hi - wondering what the going rate is for a B747 Classic Captain / FO / FE?

Salary / houseing / commuting etc.
Where?

What a pilot gets paid depends on his or her seniority (time with the company and time in a particular position (Captain, F/O, FE, etc). The type of flying one does has a bearing on what one gets paid. Obviously the company for whom one is flying makes a big difference.

Here are a few examples. They may not be entirely accurate:

http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/a...ter/atlas.html

http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/a...litta_air.html

http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/a...evergreen.html

http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/a...thern_air.html

The operator for whom I fly provides no housing, and the "commute" is simply from home to where ever the airplane is at the time. The company pays for that, and the typical trip lasts 17 days, sometimes a little more. Per diem is provided.

Our pay is based on a monthly guarantee, with additional pay being if one flies more. If one flies on days off, one makes the hourly rate, plus time and a half. The hourly rate varies with the assignment and number of years with the company (seniority).

Thanks.

How about operators on the lines of Midex, Jett8 etc.

whats the range for an all inclusive salary? that is basic + allowances (tax free)
Assuming accomodation & food is on the company.

747 salary

If the airline pay for your housing and food, then expect somewhere around $10,000 for Capt, $8000 for F/O & F/E, but if they don't provide you with hotel all the time, then you should get around $12,000.
Living in Singapore is costly, with Medix, cheaper because of the sand. Now this is a contract for a year or so.
Good luck,
