I operated N537MC which sadly is close to death down in Roswell now but it was one of the ex TIA birds and although it was heavy it also had the increased gross weight modifications and the max landing weight was 302,092KG as opposed to the more usual 285 ish. It wouldn't make stage 3 with 30 flaps so it was a 25 flap plane at the higher landing weights. It was a lovely old bird. Still had the gold T wallpaper in the crapper too!

Aah, lovely birds!
Worked with them when they were straight off the production line with Transamerica, then again when they were bought by Southern air TRANSPORT and still flying wet-leased to CV, then again at Atlas.
Just about the best -200s I ever knew!

Yes, among the classic 747 cargos, the TIA/Cargolux 271C were tops.
Had all the extras and options... increased weights... 2 upper/deck exits...
With Cargolux (I did 6 month there in 1992) we even carried passengers.
I recall the Mercedes management with 7 fancy cars for the DXB auto-show.
And a flight attendant serving champagne. Even to the crew... after landing.
Outstanding airplanes, outstanding operation.

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody out there in 744-land can offer me some information? Unfortunately, I lost all my notes from when I went to 744 Type school. I was wondering if anybody could direct me to a good source to review and study 744 systems and limitations. Maybe , you have excellent notes on your computer and are willing to share? Thanks.
Please PM
