just been on US tv news that DHL shedding 10000 jobs across the whole US operation.
DHL is a far cry from when Adrian Delsey (the 'D' in DHL) was running the show.
I knew him casually...a class act.
He is sadly missed by many.
I first met him in HNL 'round about 1979, and DHL was considering purchasing some of the CX 707 freighters for their new anticipated Benelux awarded service.
I told him straight up that these airplanes were not what they wanted (old cowl versions with restricted gross weight, compared to the advanced cowl airplane on offer elsewhere)...and he promptly agreed.
Wrote me out a check that very day...then and there.
