Avient Allegedly Off Runway at Vatry?

Any truth in the rumour that Avient had a DC10 off the runway at Vatry last week/weekend and that another aircraft will be very late out of mx leaving them with one flying?

Bad luck to be two out of three down if correct.

Africa man, you must be a first class ******!
We had a rejected take off at max weights. Everything was to the letter and the DGAC was very happy with the procedures and professional crews involved.
Nothing further to be said, unless you feel that you have been left out for some reason!

alapt, think its you missing the plot, africaman was not referring to your flying skills but much rather the nature of Avients business and the company they have, and now allegedly still keep.

What comes around goes around and please dont again deny, merely google your own company and boss's name to learn more. But to enlighten you this in the media in Africa today:

Johannesburg - The weapons destined for Zimbabwe have arrived in Harare, The Weekender reported on Saturday.
The report said the Zimbabwean government confirmed that three million rounds of assault rifle ammunition, 3 000 mortar rounds and 1 500 rocket-propelled grenades - ordered from the Chinese government - had arrived in Harare.
The South African government denied media reports that it assisted in the delivery of the arms by fuelling the Chinese vessel, An Yue Jiang, that was transporting the arsenal.
There were fears that Robert Mugabe was planning to use force to storm back to power in the presidential run-off election to be held on June 27.
He had deployed the army, police and intelligence units across Zimbabwe to campaign for him through intimidation and coercive tactics, the report said.
The Weekender quoted a Mozambican online newspaper, which reported that the ship had been refuelled by the SAS Drakensberg off the coast of South Africa before sailing north to offload its deadly cargo.
It reported that the ship was offloaded at Ponta Negra in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, Zimbabwean government officials said it was offloaded in Angola.
The report said that President Thabo Mbeki gave "a direct instruction" to Deputy Defence Minister Mluleki George to send the SAS Drakensberg to refuel the An Yue Jiang.
Presidential spokesperson Mukoni Rat****anga dismissed the reports, saying "it seems that the season of propaganda is upon us".
George said he had no instruction from Mbeki to dispatch the SAS Drakensberg and that the allegations had no substance.
However, the online article also said the arms were flown to Harare in an Ilyushin Il-76 belonging to Avient Aviation, a freight charter airline based in Zimbabwe but registered in the UK. This was confirmed by government officials in Harare, The Weekender said.
Zimbabwe's Deputy Information Minister Bright Matonga confirmed the weapons have been delivered.
The Angolan government's assistance came after an appeal by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) chairperson, Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa, to member states to bar the delivery of the ammunition to Zimbabwe, saying the arms could deepen the country's election crisis.

AAL,

Not sure that I agree with you about Avient supplying the air transport for Bob's box of fire works. Seems to me it would more likely be Avnet Aviation, a company based out of Jnb more comonly known as their other wing Norse. They have access to Russian type cargo aircraft which I don't think Avient are involved with. Either way, I would like to find out which idiots are responsible for transporting this load - they certainly would not be welcome in my company ever.........

Avient's website certainly advertises the fact that they have - or can get hold of - IL-76s. (as well as DC-8s and the DC-10s that they operate in the EU.)

Current Limiter,

Here are some facts:

Dont confuse Avient with Norse, they have nothing to do with each other. Owners of Norse is Avnet family who have no connection to - or involvement with Avient.

All Avient's aircraft are registered in Zimbabwe, even the DC-10's. So was their IL-76 (Z-WTV) until it became timex end last year. Avient has since then taken another on lease.

Avient is British based but with a Zimbabwean component, flies on Zimbabwean AOC and registrations. There is even much speculation of partnership at very high level with Zimbabweans in order to maintain this convenient relationship and co-operation.

However, think all must relax. Piece above was placed merely to explain what was meant by africaman with his statement "what comes around goes around". This new allegation is exactly that, further speculation by the media about how the controversial consignment landed in Harare. The Zimbabwe Authorities are also doing Avient no favours by having confirmed that it is indeed so. This allegation must yet be confirmed.

However, sure that big brother - the US and British know exactly if and how the consignment landed in Harare. They should expose if indeed it was so. But then again the British Govt didnt lift a finger about Avient's past military assistance to the Zimbabwe and DRC governments during the DRC conflict. There must be a good reason?

Hence the statement: What comes around goes around. Once contaminated by the swill dont complain if you remain associated. Merely check out Avient and their boss's history.

During this crisis with the Zim arms consignment, and knowing what we do about the despicable Mugabe regime, does anybody believe that any Zimbabwean operation (company) is or will be in a position to deny services to the ZDF in this precarious situation.

If on the other hand the allegation is proved true, then the matter should not again just be left there.

AAL,

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I have since heard from other sources that it was in fact Avient IL76 that did the flight. It seems that Bob has shares in the company, so I guess that explains it.

Avient

AAL , i think we are all jumping the gun here , yes i agree with you on their status ,but the DC-10 has nothing to do with the other operations

Yes, you are right with your comments of MR SMITH ,
but and a big but ,

What do you do ,was Capt Joe Roy innocent was John Kassami innocent ,
was Madam Daisy innocent ,

What Avient have done is taken over , i do not work for either but the opertunity was there for Avient to grab it ,which they did

Sorry but fair play to them , just like Mike Kruger ,when the Chips are down grab the Scrapings

Ex dog , i would be careful with who you name on the forum, look where you live and the region you operate around. i agree there have been some cloak and dagger flying done in the past by a lot of companies, but unfort in the past this org has spread a lot of bad press around about previous air cargo carriers, also some under hand business practices anyway that now is all history ....hope all is well in the household.....

Just to get back to the original thread, there is a story that the damage done to the aircraft during its 'incident' on the runway is fairly considerable, especially to the undercarriage, to the extent that maybe Avient cannot afford the repair at the moment and the aircraft is parked and used for spare parts.

Its always someone elses fault with Mr AS. Now he is having a go at IATA CASS/TIACA that their payment terms are two long - why does he continue to bill that way then? Perhaps he should just invoice and collect direct with his customers and only give 7 days credit. Oh I forgot, his customers would leave in droves (those who haven't already) because they don't get paid by their shippers for 2-3months.
