Janes Aviation Ltd
Well done Sir Stanley. I haven't seen one of those for about 20 years! It brings back memories of having a load of them in my suitcase when I left for far-flung parts in order to sell them!

G-ASOE was parked at SEN yesterday along with G-AYIM. It was reported as being in an all white colours scheme, although I thought it had previously carried Janes titling.
I don't have any new information on G-SOEI.

Thanks for that.
I'm interested in those two as I'm secretary of the Ferrymead Aeronautical Society here in CHC NZ. We hold Viscount ZK-BRF, and the noses of B170 ZK-CRK and Electra ZK-TEA. We want the noses off an F27 and an ex-Mt Cook 748 to go with those to give the whole NZ 1960s-1970s set.
IAP had promised us the nose of G-SOEI (ZK-DES to us) but the sale has blocked that (perhaps perhaps not?) and G-OSOE is ZK-MCF hence my questions.
Any follow-ups/help in this quest would be much appreciated from an NZ heritage perspective.

Just for all those who get misty eyed at the sight of the beautiful old bird, I am sat in the Radisson hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh at 08:55z on Sunday 19th July and S2-AAX ex G-BGMO has just sailed majestically past my window into the blue skies above
still wearing the Emerald livery.....

I understand that G-SOEI, the sole remaining airworthy 748 at Blackpool has been impounded. There has been no observed activity around the hangar for at least a week.
I also came across this interesting website with plenty of photos of the ex-Emerald 748s and ATPs

Interesting Horatio,
Impounded by who do you know?
As for there being no signs of activity, in his last eMail to me Steve Ferris of IAP Sydney said
"There are no aircraft left at Blackpool now and the facility is closed"
so that would make sense I guess.

Well, posting this one in a hurry. I read almost all the postings - some sad but encouraging. I would like to inform all of you that if you are still interested to take 748 up you might get a last chance to do that soon. Training captains shall be served first along with line captains good luck mates. hope to read you all here again ...

Unsurprisingly, demise looking permanent now:

A brave attempt, but ultimately doomed.
