Looks like a take-off incident. Maybe steering problem. Black line from nose wheels.
If it was landing may be he was trying to imitate the BA 777.
Where did this happen?

I'm guessing GSO = Greensboro/Piedmont Triad Intl, NC. I can't tell for sure from the picture though, but it looks like rwy 5.

Could be a low speed #4 engine failure. They can be a handfull if light and using a high thrust setting.

Here's what happened. Over 60 F/E flamed out #4 due to fuel panel mismanagement. New captain upgrade (never flown the DC-8 prior to upgrade to left seat) didn't check fuel panel right before takeoff. Captain tried to keep a/c on runway using rudder only, he did not use the tiller. Aircraft is undamaged.

Not sure how the FE's age factors into the equation but a glance at the fuel panel by the Captain is always a good idea before take off.
