Question JAR Re-think?

As an aviator from outside the EU field, does anyone else think that the JAR system was introduced a little fast. Already seems like EU companys are accepting FAA lic crew more than they used too. Is the EU market expanding faster that they can produce new crew? Maybe it is a little too expensive and the ALTP course too much old school, and involves to much subject depth?

I wouldnt call the introduction of JAR fast, the concept is over 10 years old.

And they still couldn't get it right!

Right you are!Seems like when they introduced the system, not everything was in place in the rest of the EU, still some in house squables. Will they change anything? Probably not. They must know it will cause problems in the future. Interested in the outcome.

Both of you are right! The ultimate aim was to have ease of movement around a harmonised Europe, that is still the aim, but the idea of a harmonised europe will probably be outside most of our lifetimes!
