Indeed,

Short and to the point, knew it was Matty before I read the novel.

I'll think I will go and lie down now the Wickes Management and Lms have at last confirmed the T+Cs.

Dont fancy it then Lhrloader?

Cant say i do FDD

the money is less that i get at the mo and there is a lot to be said to spending every night in your own bed!

Reading the reply from MM, its quite clear that there is a lot of time away from home (a 4 moth tour of duty / 2 month tour of duty). Im sure though, there are lots of interested people in this, just make sure you know what you are letting yourself in for! I think that the 'rumours' on here have let everybody know whats involved and the renumeration involved!

best of luck

Most trips are only a few days and there's a lot of STN work. I spend more nights in my own bed than not. We're not flogged around like some 747 operators do their Loadies.

Those long trips come up once in a blue moon. I volunteered to take them on (with a few perks), made the most of the time I had at each stop and had a whale of a time. Not many companies will pay for you to have holidays like that.
When people are deciding whether to go out drinking in Stortford, Chelmsford or Harlow, I love having the additional choice of a night out in Dubai, Johannesburg, or Hong Kong.

Experience does count here as some of our customers specifically require it, so that has to be taken into account.

If you're interested, get your CV in, come in and talk to the boss (and the guys) you'll get the full rumourless, unadulterated truth about the job and T&C's and you can decide if it's for you.

It's nice to see not everyone is after T & Cs. Jobs are not about how much money you earn, but the quality of life it gives you and the satisfaction you get from doing it. Loving Matts view on things and find them quite refreshing. I must agree wholehartedly that an occasional beer in a sunny climate recharges the battery like nothing else. For every loadmaster/flightcrewmember/ Cabin crew, etc. wanting to spend the night in his/her own bed I'm sure you can find one that really enjoys travelling the world. Now, If this can be done on a 74 freighter, even better!

Hope all you ex-channex boys are doing well. Wherever you are.....
